I agree, I also love the snarky dialogue options.
I think they should go back and add some of the talking animations to older cutscenes, the endless standing still and nodding is so bad in comparison to the more lively version of WoL that actually speaks sometimes even when there's no dialogue options.

I hope they do, too. I recently replayed ARR with a sprout friend of mine, and the WoL nodding with that empty, vacant expression in response to just about everything is painful to watch these days.

The worst offender, in my opinion, was the dialogue choice right before the final boss of 6.0. I didn't want to say either of those things. Avoiding details due to spoilers, but that's one scenario where overall I felt like I was forced to hear, feel, think a very specific way.

Because I gotta be contrary, I wish there was a way to not have my WoL speak. There's a whole subset of Xaela that don't talk because Wacky Xaela Lore, but if you're a Qestir you still have dialogue options and speaking animations.
Here is my take, but WoL is not my character, your character or anyone's character. He/she is his/her own character. Just that he/she has a blank appearance so that players can input in some customization. His/her thought, his/her feeling, how he/she experiences story events... are all entirely his or her.
