5678 roulette: Antitower as a WAR.

Thanks to the single targeting melee dpses & (almost) pure healer WHM, I got to learn two new things from this dungeon:

1. Second boss will summon more than 3 shards if you let them repeat mechanics.
2. Last boss will transform both tank and healer into dolls on second Dollhouse phase.

Literally the only other AoE that I saw coming out was WHM's Holy that they cast once in a blue moon at like 15y away from the pull, I had to actually drag the mobs closer... only for them to scoot away to 'safety'. Okay, whatever.

The doll died in the mid of third Dollhouse cast. Was both curious and not curious what the third dollhouse will do, considering the DRG was entirely ignorant to mechanics by only attacking the main boss (Frog, Spriggan, and Doll all the same). Roughly a 21-22 minutes long run. Peace.

Crystal is usually pretty chill when it comes to DF content. It's either friendly conversations and banter or total silence, but I haven't had many bad experiences on the old server cluster before the change or Crystal in general after it. The number of truly awful experiences I've had through the years could probably be counted on one hand, and not even a full hand at that. I've seen my fair share of salt being thrown around after wipes, sure, and some I've seen plenty who can come across as abrasive. But I don't blame that on the community. It's an internet thing, and a people thing. Either way, the good has outweighed the bad so far, and I've been around a while.

I mean.. I don't keep a secret that I wrote more of my less than ideal runs in this thread. Truth is, for every bad runs I had, I got like 7-10 average/good/excellent runs in return. Let's just say that writing the former are more entertaining and aligns with the thread's purpose: to vent, unless the latter ones are really -really- memorable in some way.

I've never used DF solo in other DC, I probably should give that a try someday.

Its about the same. Most of my runs on my DC are as Vahlnir says are chill. That said it isn't like I haven't had crappy runs on Crystal. For instance. I dunno if I wrote in here for this one but on my alt now male Viera GNB I had a WoD run where our 2 healers were new to the raid and some jack of a dps complained after every single wipe. Angry Mango I think was twice, Cerberus was once... because of COURSE we were C and OF COURSE no one did chains correctly, and I think we cleared Cloud but w/e. The guy was harassing them in alliance chat and backed up by another person and I'm like: fam, stfu. They're NEW and part of the reason why we wiped had NOTHING TO DO WITH THEM. Either make your complaints cordial or say nothing at all.

I reported him. Obviously.

I don't believe it was on Crystal cause I've moved this character to like 3 difference servers at this point but I had a crappy tank in Malikah's Well who used all his mits on the first wall to wall pull had nothing on the second and kept taking vuln stacks up the wazoo.

It was literally in my best interest on the final boss to let him die and res him it got that bad since he didn't mit A N Y T H I N G.

Aether can't claim the misery that was doing 5 runs of Orbonne back to back to back to back to back (through roulette mind you) where my alliance and the other had to carry the final one towards the end of Shb's expansion cycle though. That was all Crystal.

That was my initial assumption too when DC travel became live. Funnily enough while here you mentioned about 'squinting at Aether DC', that very same day when DC travel became live my first roulette paired me with a random from Balmung who wrote "Finally, a functioning Duty Finder folks." in alliance chat. I'm not entirely sure what was the context or meaning behind that comment, but it was quite entertaining talking about that w/ my friends in our little linkshell, theorizing the whys.

Homie survived up till last boss I really wasn't sure how I kept them alive -that- long but eventually I had to let them die from that burden of delicious 8(?) vuln stacks. Ironically enough, just before I got into that hellish run I was joking with my tank friend in the linkshell, telling them "There are only 2 ways to combat Vuln Stacks: (1) Cry a curse for every GCD heals you spend to keep your tank alive, or (2) 'Cleanse' the stacks.". Not once I ever thought my own joke bite me back that fast. Karma's a b!tch lmao.

The tank wrote "Nice healing" at the end of it but at that time Idk if I should feel happy or... whatever... This happened around the time between 5.3 to 5.4 IIRC.

Eh... well to go into more detail... I think he died more than once but honestly, when I literally popped EVERYTHING and you're in Scaevan Gear, not even at the level cap to get better gear, and you aren't mitigating, there's only so much I can do without Noct Sect on (I was Diurnal when we still had it) and/or Neutral Sect. I burned EVERYTHING. Even popped Lightspeed to keep that mofo up and still he plopped.

I didn't let him get to 8 vuln stacks. I saw the boss charging up TB knew he wasn't going to mit it cause he didn't do it for the entire dungeon, and he took 7 vuln stacks by not trying to stand out of the avoidable triangle I'm sorry PYRAMIDS and circles and I said, CI may save you, but fk it you're dying, I'm rezzing and your vuln stacks are being reset because I'm not dealing with your crap any longer. Second and 1/3 times I let someone die because I wasn't dealing with their BS.

Oh and I died on the second boss I think it was? Trying to save someone and we had 2 RDMs... GUESS WHO DIDN'T VERRAISE!

I'M PRETTY FRIGGIN' SURE I HAVE A NEAR FULL ALLIANCE RAID OF SPROUTS.

FIRST BOSS. NEITHER OF THE TWO TANKS (BOTH PLD I'M ON GNB) DECIDE THEY WANNA AGGRO. FIEN. I'LL MT. N O P E THEY TAKE AGGRO FROM ME. FINE W/E. I AIN'T GONNA PLAY "WHO'S GOT THE BIGGER T-PEEN". ...EXCEPT YES I AM CAUSE IF I POP "NO MERCY" AND DO MY DAMAGE I STEAL AGGRO. SO, I'M GIMPING MY DAMAGE HERE SO I DON'T STEAL ANYTHING. FINAL BOSS. I SAY TO MYSELF, 'F THIS SH** YOU ARE TANKING THE CLOUD OF DARKNESS IF IT FRIGGIN' KILLS YOU' IT DID. AND I WAS ON THE FLOOR LONGER THAN I SHOULD'VE BEEN BUT W/E. BOTH PLDS ARE TRYING TO TAKE AGGRO FROM ME. NOPE.AVI. 'VOKE YOUR ARSE OVER HERE. AS I SAID I END UP GOING DOWN AND IT TOOK TOO LONG FOR MY HEALERS TO RES ME (BECAUSE THEY HARD RESSED INSTEAD OF SWIFT CASTED). Leveling roulette as DNC earlier today put me in Haukke Manor. No big deal, except for not having a grand portion of my kit. Turns out this run was a little different from normal. I had with me two sprouts and a vet who apparently had no sense of direction. Since I seemed to be the only one who knew where to go, I decided to do something unusual and apply the Danger Dorito to myself. Much gentle guiding and wordless hopping (I was playing on PS5 and didn't have my keyboard hooked up) and we make it through Haukke Manor pretty much without a hitch (although as seems to happen a lot, we forgot to grab the first colored key). The cherry on top? At the end of it, I made it out with three comms for my guidance! May or may not have helped that I couldn't say anything lol.
