Be great if any mentor just in it for the reward, would be reset to zero if they start a complaint thread about mentoring.
Don't want to mentor, don't queue. You are pulled in as people need you.

I am fairly sure 99,9% of the people who even bother to do Mentor roulette are just doing it for the mount![]()
So you want trial, normal raid, alliance raid and dungeon roulette. Thats awesome idea! But wait. Dont we already have that?
Imagine grinding 2k duries for a ugly mount. No thanks. I and ppl who I asked usually do it just for fun to punish themself getting Ramuh EX with 7 sprouts.
There are some with maybe 100 runs done who do it for fun and to feel helpful. Those who actually help newbies and help fill queues day in and day out are probably doing it for the mount. I've never heard of a mentor who helped 2000 newbie groups and refused to learn the mount. The purely altruistic ones like to talk but don't queue as much.
I think the issue with "mentor EXT" in current content is more that hardly anyone queue's for EXT using duty finder, Party finders system is much better for hardcore content because you need to normally watch a guide or know what you're doing, you will likely not clear if you go in blind unless you're in a static... Maybe some extremes but they're varied in difficulty, people saying you should have know how to clear every extreme, all the details off by memory doesn't understand that's not even realistic for most players, EXT's for the most part need preparation for the fight, I don't know how anyone would even expect your most hardcore raiders to be able to understand all the extremes just off by memory from clearing them once...?
I personally think Mentors shouldn't have much to do with "harder content" in general, it's pretty quick and easy for someone to explain basics about a lot of normal content, with extremes and savage you shouldn't really expect everyone to explain every mech to you, you should either look at a guide and go use party finder or find a group to do it blind with. I just don't know what people really expect of mentors if they think they're able to explain every mech of every EXT fight.
I will end off by saying the mentor system could do with some updating, But I think obviously mentors should be able to explain pretty well known and normal things they're not meant to be this all knowing being who performs everything at a perfect level. I personally think a lot of people expect mentors never to make mistakes or understand every mech of every fight, I'll add that I think Mentors should try to be responsible and give advice if someone asks.

I'm personally in it for the title rather than the mount. No idea what that thing even looks like tbh lolol.
I will say though, I do queue for mentor roulette because it does provide some form of excitement when it pops and I'm waiting to see what is on the other side. Sure sometimes it sucks but I'm working towards something I want + refreshing myself on the mechs of fights I don't get to see very often.
Most EX fights can be blind progged in a single lockout. Overgearing and potency creep make the dps checks on old EX fights basically non-existent.I think the issue with "mentor EXT" in current content is more that hardly anyone queue's for EXT using duty finder, Party finders system is much better for hardcore content because you need to normally watch a guide or know what you're doing, you will likely not clear if you go in blind unless you're in a static... That really depends on what EXT fight really, I've mainly done a lot of the recent EW ones and some SHB ones personally I remember them being somewhat hard, you certainly needed to watch a guide beforehand, a lot of the really older ones might be true?
That being said You can certainly still get stuck with a fight that would practically be impossible to explain everything from and Duty finder isn't really good for extremes, theirs not even a exterme roulette outside of mentor. It goes back to Duty finder not really being the best learning environment for harder content in the first place.
I am basing what I said on the EW trials. The first two were barely ex fights and neither of the other two have mechanics that someone aspiring to be a mentor should have trouble picking up.That really depends on what EXT fight really, I've mainly done a lot of the recent EW ones and some SHB ones personally I remember them being somewhat hard, you certainly needed to watch a guide beforehand, a lot of the really older ones might be true?

"difficulty of fights is easy" as a example I actually found the third EXT (of this expansion) pretty easy after watching the guide for a example, But I know if I was randomly yeeted into it right now I'd likely not have a clue what I'm doing and would likely want a quick reminder of the mechs, This is the issue with getting random harder content. (I haven't done EXT4 yet, not really interested in hard content right now).
but again, you should likely watch a guide and use party finder if you want to do a extreme. Random instances of Duty finder EXT should have nothing to do with being a Mentor really.
