To Paal Henrik - I have and end of the day if some reseller is going to run a army of accounts to buy up a ward I am sure SE will gladly take their money; as it stands anyone can currently lockdown essentially a 6th of a ward by themselves; the idea is to increase supply while its not feasible to eradicate the issue. No solution is going to be flawless.
To Jojoya - I think the unrestricted wards idea is generally a mistake; as making "personal Fcs" seems to be a growing trend and which in turn will result in a increase in resellers; the difference is not that the personal bidders will now be in competition with the FC resellers. On the surface this means that 1 "personal FC" can essentially slam a desireable plot with 8+ bids potentially; rendering private bidders at a significant disadvantage. At the same time it will likely result in the unrestricted ward system data being skewed - it will show MANY FC bidders more then it will show private bidders; suggesting FC demand is up.
To address the concern of reselling with a home becoming a personal home - you would need 4 people to become a FC again. So if the reseller brought someone into the FC to sell - that would still mean that 4 of the resellers character slots are now being used for the next 60 days - drastically reducing their ability to propagate without expending significant $$$ into SE's pocket (30 days to become a FC again - 30 days of the person being a member) The general idea is to try and allow player agency to manipulate the housing wards toward their own (example if you have a private and wish to sell; I don't see a issue with it seeing as right now the requirement to own a private home is significantly higher then a FC) though in hindsight - I would like to figure out how to avoid giving a personal to a character unable to get one due to lack of GC rank; alts having privates isn't really a concern due to the 1 world restriction anyways. This was why I suggested a FC degrade to a Personal if the FC does not maintain it (because if you and 2 friends are your entire FC you could always just share the estate anyways)
I think *some* scarcity in the market should be accepted as your right that home ownership should be a level of prestige. I do think flooding the market with housing will sadly result in it also just not being a thing for many.
