If they were ever to add that them back again I think it should still require being top 100 but if you get top 100 you get to pick from a pool of items.

But yeah, no. Let's not unless they somehow fix the old issues ranked pvp had if we're gonna start locking exclusive items back behind it.
Ranked issues were annoying I give you that, but the top 100 did give PvPers something to strive for that was solely and uniquely theirs. PvP is not for everyone, and even still hardcore pvers should get content that provides a reason to do the content outside of simple enjoyment.
Hard to strive for something when others are literally griefing games to take the top spots by force, not by skill....which is literally the point of pvp. I definitely agree pvp should have better rewards to encourage more play but not if it comes with the price of botters/griefers making everything harder than it needs to be and taking spots from those who are actually skilled. I mean isn't that always going to be a problem with PvP in games with a lower player count for that content? Should we really keep the rewards away because people will exploit the system? I do have a few friends that are top 100 players they do echo everything you just said, but at the time same time they would rather have the top 100 rewards and deal with the wintraders, and those few using certain tools to asset in their play for the few good matches. Humble reminder that 1.X players lost their marbles and respect for Yoshida when they added the White Ravens earrings to an event that took like 15-30min to finish vs when they actually had to fight Nael van Darnus (a hard fight back then).
Those were merely earrings, yet they had veteran value of those who had them. Surely you can understand how putting Top 100 trophies into something as mindnumbingly easy to obtain as Moogle Tomestones is basically insulting to those who were not cheating, wintrading or doing any other underhanded things?

NO, it is not worth it having it earlier than others vs it being unique to you and those who qualified. Top 100 or any form of leaderboard rewards cannot be compared to Ultimate or Savage rewards as Ranked is a competition with a clear definition of having winners and losers, not a challenge you can grind away on. They are Trophies showcasing performance per season.
I am more than welcome to ideas for it to be re-obtainable, assuming the difficulty of obtaining them is equivalent to the original method. Frankly speaking, if you want high-end PvP rewards, you need to play high-end PvP.
I'll happily take a restructuring of how Ranked PvP rewards are currently organised, as the current one is paltry as f***. Tiers (Crystal, Diamond, Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze) need a unique ranked-only reward, like a ranked-only currency (Trophy Crystals failed on that as they are obtainable outside of it) and the scaling of Top X can be expanded depending on the amount of participants in Crystal tier, with 100 being the minimum.
