If you only seeing around 700-800 bids per lottery cycle, you have nothing to worry about. There will be 1500 out of 1800 available for you to bid on in the new wards, plus whatever becomes available through demolition once that's resumed for a few weeks. There are a lot of us. Only 2 of our FCs 13 members have personal housing, and pretty much all but 3 want to get personals. I have been bidding in every round and never won a damn thing whether it was against 200 people or 1. There are usually upwards of 700 bids on my world per round right now, and that's with many I know giving up who don't have a house and waiting for the new wards. I'm the only one of the 8 that has been bidding. I also know several other people on other worlds still trying for first house.
Shell FCs shouldn't be much of a problem because they don't have the large number of members able to bid. The legit FCs that would be more of a threat but there also shouldn't be that many of them on most worlds considering wards haven't been sold out for all that long except on some of the Crystal worlds.
As for mediums and larges? The number of players who will want to relocate should negate any meaningful advantage the larger FCs have in the split wards. Even if a FC has 20 out of 200 entries on a plot, that's still 180 chances to lose compared to only 20 chances to win.
Yes that is nice and I'm was aware of the sunsets but I'd take an 11 rather than no plot and always have the option to try for a 41 as a transfer at a later date. I'm personally waiting to see the new skin in game before I decide on a skin for the house and start my garden. There is a 90 degree difference in rotation between main division and subdivision. The front of LB-11 faces south while the front of LB-41 faces west. As a result, LB-41 gets lovely sunsets.
LB-11 does have one advantage though - the moment someone enters the ward, they can swim straight to your house XD
These were the bids on Hali in the FC zones when I placed my two bids just before bids ended.
Plots 11 and 41 Lavender Reg/Sub

This is true, but it always was. Even back in the click placard days - although one could say it was worse then as any free mediums would be snapped up by a bot and resold before you could blink.
For those who do not wish to move to a new server, all you can do make a choice for yourself - a better chance for small goblet-cliff house now and have something at least for the years it takes to upgrade, or keep trying for the jackpot medium with the infinitesimally smaller chances and very likely stay homeless.
Sucks, completely sucks, but that's what we are stuck with it seems.

Damn, less fc-exclusive wards than I'd hoped. Time to try my luck with Ishgard mansions again!![]()
700-800 CURRENTLY. CURRENTLY. This will grow exponentially when new plots are added. Because many have given up for the time being. If my own little FC is anything to go by, 700-800 is only 1/5th the number of people who ACTUALLY want to bid, but have not found it worth it to go against 150+ people each time and have decided to wait for the new wards and stopped bidding until then. This means the actual bids could be closer to 3500 when the new wards come out, WAY more then there are plots. Enough for all plots to have 2+ bids. Now not all will, Larges and Meds will have more, meaning some smalls will in fact end up with 0 or just 1 due to limitation of 1 bid per character regardless of type, but it wont be 700-800 when the new wards come out, noooo way.
I seriously doubt that the actual demand is 5 times the number of bids we have been seeing over several lottery rounds which have been pretty consistent.700-800 CURRENTLY. CURRENTLY. Imo, the actual demand is more likely to be just a few hundreds on worlds outside of Balmung based on the number of bids when there are only smalls available since we'll have to include relocator bids as well whenever there is a medium or large up for bidding. Which means that 4 mixed wards plus 1 private ward in 6.3 is definitely more than enough for everyone to get a house.
Despite all the complaints and gnashing of teeth in the forums, I do sincerely believe that the addition of wards plus auto demolition on 6.3 will finally solve FFXIV housing woes once and for all.
Though good luck if you are a fellow Balmung denizen lol!
Feels good not having to worry about housing anymore.
Dynamis, the place where dreams come true.
HA! Must be nice to be so blind. Last time when they opened 10-18 for personal, there was thousands on bids on Midgard where I am. There has not been 1000s of people getting houses since then. People haven't been bidding because they believe its hopeless. They wont believe it was hopeless with the new wards, bids will go WAY up. Triple++ Just like they did the last time they opened more wards to personal. They have only been 'consistent' because people have given up trying a long time before new wards were announced. And now that they are here, they will be coming back to try again. If I know so many people like this, I know I'm not the only one who knows people like this. They have been disheartened and driven away. They will be back for the new wards.I seriously doubt that the actual demand is 5 times the number of bids we have been seeing over several lottery rounds which have been pretty consistent.
