my suggestion for the dev is to add a "dresser room" in each houses. it's a special solo instance where u can use glam dresser alone in a room. and only 1 person can use it at a time

I can imagine this I'd there was any actual shops and stores Ingame with changing rooms.
but since the closest thing would be a guild. and they don't have such rooms.<the preview in try on and in the character menu/Pose/Portrait is practical a portable version of it>

it is unlikely that it'll exist in a applicable way for custom locations. <seeing how people stack things together as well. imagine a floor collapsing and there goes the Server.>

Hopefully they make changes one day to how it works in general, maybe then the system will be better, and we can have dressers anywhere.

but unlikely to ever have a true dressing room one day.

So you're only thinking of FC houses. What about my apartment or someone's house that doesn't have one of those doors inside? Is a door supposed to suddenly appear in those instances and likely be blocked by existing decoration? We already have changing rooms available to all and it's not that far to go in any city that has it.

WoW chest and leg gear is just an image shrinkwrapped over the character model. It's also why they only have full-length robes and skirts with no shorter options; to prevent clipping with robes, the game literally turns off your legs from the ankle up.
