How many housing lotteries do I have to enter before I win?

No, its not best to wait until new wards are added in 6.3! The strategies we were talking about were specifically for that single round when the new 6.3 wards are added. If you want to get a personal house on your server, you have to participate in every lottery round even though the chance of winning is extremely small. The launch of 6.3 will just offer you a single round where your chance of winning may be higher than 10%, but that's it. There will never be a time when you actually even have a decent chance of winning a personal house. The launch of 6.3 will just be when you have the least terrible odds of winning.

The only way to get a guaranteed house on an established server is to make a shell FC and snap up a FC house. Those remain available for a long time after the launch of new wards. Make your FC ASAP if you want to go this route, because you must be in the FC for 30 days to be eligible to bid for a house on its behalf.

I'm going to keep participating in lotteries when available until I win. Not going to sit and wait til 6.3. But I'm not going to make a shell fc for a house, that's just too much of a hassle for me personally. Just wush there was some kind of bad luck counter that was in effect for situations like this.

I've bid in 23 of the 25 lotteries and haven't won. Just keep trying. The new ward split is very disheartening and likely wont give a good chance after this mornings announcement. So just keep trying. Auto demo might at least keep plots coming to try on.

Lets see how many wards will have the same name FC show up several times because someone decided to spam bids with lots of alts, which then also doesnt even get punished.

Just wush there was some kind of bad luck counter that was in effect for situations like this.

With over 100 people having that counter maxed and 1 house per cycle available, your odds wont improve yet. It just makes relocations less likely to succeed.

well I mean even if they spam bids, they can only claim one plot. Even if they win several, they can only claim 1, the rest they have to let recycle and lose 50% of the gil they put on it for not claiming it.

Just one... and if it is not good enough goto a server with a bigger selection of housing if it is that important to you.

Also you can ask the people on this forum that defend grandfathering, got multiple houses or FC's cross servers for the only reason of greeding piling houses up calling it being enthusiasts about it and why so many need to have just more of a ressource that already is very limited.

Yea I'm not a fan of people owning multiple houses across alts. I think they should limit it to two houses per DC per account and it can be a combination of either two fc houses, two privates OR one of each. Cause I have seen fc wards with bout 7 of the same guild tags and that shouldn't be allowed

It honestly depends on how many players and FCs on your world are still trying to get a house. It may not be as bad as feared on some worlds (F for Balmung and Mateus).

Just don't go after one of the plots that everyone wants. Go after one with little interest. That way you at least have a house with your foot in the door. You can always relocate to a better house later.

It may not end up that bad with the first lottery only 3 weeks away. Those running the shell FCs would already need to have them set up to enter. Any formed this week will not be eligible.

same tag =/= same FC, tags are not exclusive. You can have the same tag as another FC on the same server, and have nothing to do with them.

I mean, you can put two and two together and surmise that the FCs with the same tag on the same housing ward are usually owned by a single player.
