So will Island Sanctuary become more like WoW Garrisons?

I feel like you're all being purposely dismissive, difficult and derailing/ignoring the main question just because I compared Garrisons to Island Sanctuary. The point of the post was that Garrisons aka WoW scuffed version of player housing have it's equivalent to the market board, bank, mount stable, and glamour dresser, etc. So I was ASKING if anybody hoped we got these for our island sanctuary, and other features of convenience like Garrisons, all of the resources, everything would be there and we'll never have to leave when not in dungeons, ques, etc.

So, FC bank, glamour dresser, market board, Chocobo stable, retainer bell, aesthetician, etc.

Yet, you're all up in arms over things that are irrelevant to my initial post and the point of it. Who cares if it's "NoT LiKe GaRrISoNs!", that literally has nothing to do with the post. The point was, does anybody hope these things get added to IS, nothing more.

(Frustrated because my post was apparently featured on Zepla's stream and people were being rude)

So far I am loving IS because it reminds me of Garrisons, who cares if it doesn't remind you of Garrisons, it does to me. And I wouldn't want IS to become a throwaway feature just so wealthier players can lavish in their player housing. I want a reason to keep on coming back.

Most WoW players didn't enjoy Garrisons so as soon as you say "Garrison", it's going to derail your intent. For many of us, it was the beginning of the end of our interest in the game.

Will SE add those features you mention to Island Sanctuary? Extremely unlikely. Most of them go against what Island Sanctuary is supposed to be (your retreat to get away from everything) though I think it would be amusing if they at least allowed Jandelaine to show up there.

The reason to keep coming back? You enjoy it. They are adding updates to creatures, gathered materials, recipes and rewards in 6.3 though those are supposed to be minor compared to what they have planned for 6.4. If you've been stockpiling cowries you'll get to chose between spending them on the new rewards, or buying DoH/DoL materia to use or sell. If you need a marketboard to make it worth a return trip then it sounds like you really don't enjoy it that much after all.

I mean, I don't NEED the MB, it's just, it's tiresome constantly paying coin just to go to New Gridania, FC house, then to IS. I love sitting around on the island, so if the MB was there, it'll limit the amount of gil I'll have to spend to do normal things and allow me to relax at my "home". It's easy to relax in one spot when everything is all there. (it's like working from home) Like let's say I was a crafter, for instance, imagine crafting on my beautiful island, and using the MB while still on it?

For example, if the FC house had a glamour dresser, I would never have to constantly go back to New Gridania.

However, if I had to pick three things to add, it'll be a mount stable, or to put my mounts where the other captured creatures are at (missed opportunity), a market board, and an Aetheryte.

I was afking in front of a rare animal spawn point waiting for it and got kicked back to Lower La Nocea. Apparently all the rules that apply in instanced dungeons apply on the Island. The Island Sanctuary is just an instanced dungeon duty without hostile enemies.

It's clear that they want us to leave the instance for things like the market board and retainer ventures, just so we don't occupy the instance server resource during afk. I don't see this changing ever at all, since the instanced server structure is at the very core of FFXIV.

I'm bit torn on the Island Sanctuary, I've seen some people enjoy it, but I'd rather have them put the effort towards more meaningful multiplayer content instead of having people log-in to spreadsheet their solo stuff that is in no way tied to any other systems (gathering and crafting have nothing to do with your DoH/DoL for example).

If they put everything onto the IS that you're asking for OP, that would be my cue to start seriously looking for a different MMO.

From your posts it seems like you enjoy solo play and not having to interact with anyone or travel anywhere. For most MMO players interacting and travelling the world are parts of the game they enjoy.
At the moment IS is fluff content that you engage with if you enjoy it. I find it pretty boring now I've levelled mine up and I'm delighted that unlike the WoW Garrison, I can pretty much ignore it. If they put too much into the IS then players are going to be holed up in there and the world is going to be dead. That's not healthy for the game.

It's only a short hop to Limsa for the markets, retainers etc. and there is an Aetheryte right by the entrance (though I wouldn't object to being able to teleport directly to the IS itself).

I played WoW when the Garrisons were introduced and I hated it, that expansion was what made me come here. Spending up to an hour doing mission tables, opening loot boxes, gathering etc, before getting out in the world and playing really killed my interest in the game.
There were some cool features like Invasions and NPC Followers that I wouldn't mind seeing introduced, but I definitely don't want it to become so feature packed that you never need to leave.

Do you hunt or do Masked Carnival at all? Buy Aetheryte tickets with Allied/Centurio and use them to pay teleport fees. I haven't paid a teleport fee on this character in a long time.

I'm fairly certain I remember YoshiP mentioning they had something related to mounts planned but not what or when we might expect to see it.

The Aetheryte wouldn't be possible because IS is instanced. The marketboard would also be extremely unlikely. Summoning Bell and Crystal Bell should be technically possible though SE may have reasons for not wanting them there. We already know they had problems with the glamour dresser when they tried to turn it into a furnishing for housing but I wonder if they could get it to work on IS if they gave it a static position.

IIRC, the glam dresser caused trouble when multiple people went to use it, so IS would be a bad place for it.

I don't, but I guess I can start doing it to avoid fees. That's if i decide to renew my sub this time around. And right, the island is so amazing for those things!
