Must not have been that serious of an issue then.
Yeah cause players do not already ignore mechanics.

They will ignore mechanics more.
Happened with Overwatch 2.
Wasn't any accessible stats in Overwatch 1.
Overwatch 2 adds stat meters. I now see support aiming for the heals (as it is the only thing that displays on the stats) rather than perking the team up. Those that don't go for heals (e.g. if you play Lucio) get ridiculed because nobody can see the speed boost (which is arguably more important) that Lucio delivers.
The same will happen in FF14.
People will do the thing that pushes them up the scale, not the thing that makes them a better player e.g. DPS refusing to move out of shit to keep their DPS high. Healers healing the wrong peeps because they want more of their heals to land, etc.
Don't let the pure healers find out that if you spam recuperate as overheals it counts towards healing done value, you'll start seeing droves of 0mp healers falling over from random chip damage because they are too focused padding themselves to be #1 on healing...
Breathing breeds toxicity tbh.
Terrible way of putting it, but I guess so? If reporting was as easy as the RMT button it would be more convenient instead of having to scroll back up through all the comments to dig out all the insults and vulgarity with time stamps, listing where and when it happened and by whom with including the name and world too.
The only time I was forced to file a report asap is when someone decided to make it their duty to harass me with alts, then going to city states to type something along the lines of "xyz is a hoe".
Like I said before, had some bad runs with people who were rude and insulting for no reason, or even kicking unfairly because they can and they entered 3/4 etc..
It's just simply not a good way of dealing with it, especially if you got dc'd soon after and lost all the logs, it's impossible to report that kind of disgusting behavior.
