Which is why they should've done something about it by now when they've been abusing this same method of farming since the 2.0 days.
A logical first step would be to just remove the gil drops from ARR/HW dungeon trash because it's what they're after and Stormblood onwards already did that anyways. They can compensate by having more equipment drops in chests as actual players can use the GC seals from turning it in to make gil via marketable items instead.

Not saying you're wrong because it is a method of making gil but what newbies do you know that actually engage in that method without being handheld into doing it first? I feel that most rely on gil from MSQ rewards or roulettes but maybe I'm out of touch since it's been a couple of years now since I've been new.
