Why is diadem a duty?

The logic of your opening statement is just as dumb as the statement you're attempting to call out. Give it a rest. Someone not having completed all content does not preclude them from having an opinion on what the game has or does not have, equally this does not make any opinion on the matter invalid.

The problem with this statement is that it not only ignores many of the issues that do plague certain areas of content but equally essentially advocates for... Something to do for the sake of something to do, regardless of the substance of actual content. When people refer to 'nothing to do' -- They are not meaning literally "nothing to do", they are making a reference to a good bulk of the content in the game essentially being one-off content with little in terms of actual replay value that makes obtaining or working towards a goal as something not really meaningful, and the game could do with having more meaningful.

Do you know what is cool? That Palace of the Dead, each run feels like a different experience albeit with the same aesthetic, all whilst giving the player a challenge to rise to, each class making you use a different tactic, that often requires fairly creative methods, making each class a unique experience in itself. Do You know what isn't? Farming gatherers boon 20,000 times just for a title, doing the same cycle every. single. time. Want to know what else isn't cool? Spending obscene amounts of time farming 3,000 A-Ranks and 2,000 S-Ranks. Granted, this is relative, but regardless of your own personal feelings, there is a different engagement factor between them -- and it isn't exactly in equal amounts.

"Nothing to do" and "not worth my time/isn't engaging" aren't the same. I've talked to them about the latter already. Let them defend themselves and their points. Works for some not for others, such is life.

Is it really that difficult for you to come to the same conclusion? If you post something on a forum, expect people to take it within their prerogative to respond in accordance with their perspective. Or is this also too much of a difficult notion for you?

Whether you like it or not, and regardless of your own vivid imagination I am not defending anyone, I am disagreeing with what I judge to be a very poor outlook and responding to it according to how I see fit. I am well aware the poster is quite perfectly capable. Next time you take issue with it I would advise you to seek an alternative to an open forum, because much like the intended use - People will reply to a comment regardless of whether that is directed at them.

Sure, didn't say you were wrong. I've already responded to a similar post exactly the same way only last page, you just insist on badgering me about it without understanding the why. Continuing to throw a list at me doesn't mean the content is good, considering most of it is roughly 4-6 years old to begin with. Palace of the Dead is nearly 7 years old, and basically unchanged except for the terrible sync. Why is POTD ever mentioned in lists like these knowing it's so old and withered? You all act like we didn't run that for a year straight when it came out.

So again these things being brought up by players that have only joined at the tail end of Shadowbringers seem a bit dishonest typically with their feast of 300 hours of MSQ and side content. I'm glad you all see a plethora of fun things to do, I really do. But it's just like if I went to WoW and told them to stop complaining because they have all of BfA and Torghast to do, oh also did you catch all the pokemans battle pets? Oh you didn't? Then you still have content to do!

They teased Variant and Harvest Moon.. *Cough* Island Sanctuary as if they'd compete with Bozja and Eureka levels of activity. Both dead after 3 days each.

Thing there is I never said to not complain in the general sense. More in the vein of having actually nothing to do. But ofc we've addressed that bit already so I'm not sure if that bit was directed at me or not. Old or not doesnt mean its bad. Thats up to the individual ofc. I only offered other spots to maybe help get that fix. I left PSO2NG cause there wasn't much to do that I was interested in in that same vein. May return one day. May not.

I personally can't call someone dishonest when it comes to that. I mean does that make me dishonest as I've only been around since mid SB? I believe people can be knowledgeable about things despite not having a vets play time. Sometimes it's a fresh perspective that's needed.
Also odd to call Island Dead when I see folks crowded in that area all the time. Plenty on my list are still actively going to theirs. BUT that can differ based on server, DC

Because my only concern is when someone posts with a clearly dishonest point of view to the one concerned and around the discussion as a whole - Being veterans of the franchise having nothing worthwhile to do at this stage. So telling me to go do POTD is borderline offensive. lol

They opt to ignore the player's actual concerns in turn of their own experience as a new player coming into an MMO at the 8-10 year mark where all of the old content is roughly runnable and designed to last you a long time, but the new content is not. They're neither engaging or long lasting. Yoshi-P hyped up Variant and Island Sanctuary to us for a year and a half*, and once they released we walked through them both in an average weekend with no reason to even repeat.

Edit: I don't think you are dishonest - But it's all too often that some players forget that we can actually see their Achievements and act like they know what they're talking about when we know it's from a skewed perspective. Like when they start in 2021 and we can see they boosted all classes, then tell me I still have content to do because I'm not 90 everything.

Well my intent isn't to insult or anything. As with many things people take things differently. I still haven't beaten potd fully myself. (Floor 183 is cursed I swear) so being tod about that content despite it being old doesn't bother me and is valid. I was coming more from a place where I've seen folks claim the game objectively has no content. It's just a limsa social simulator of sorts. So thats why I started with the more objective stance on that front.

As far as those 2 modes. I never felt that they were hyped up. In fact iirc he told people to temper their expectations. Many didn't and were disappointed due to not listening. I think both modes are fine as starting points to that content. I love the idea of both now I'm just wanting to see where it goes ya know? I still don't have IS fully done same for all the secrets in Variant. Criterion I haven't even touched yet. The moogle event had reminded me I need to get my pvp stuff done. I guess I don't have the same issues as you in part due to me spacing content out. No real right or wrong there ofc.

And thats fair. I just try to be open in that sense. I've never checked someone else's character here truth be told. I'm shocked no one has tried to call me out on it when talking about EW stuff as I'm all 80s on this one. (It's my old main lol)
