Remember when people complained about males wearing subligars in XI? Those were the days...
...Welp, can't go back now. SE should just make male panties Mogshop exclusive. They would be raking in the money that way!

Oddly enough, when I joined the game, a common thing people praised was the Hellfire armor or something not discriminating between male and female characters: it had a chest window for both genders. People liked that skimpyness was done on an equal level at the time. So either FF11 fans grew wiser or FF14 fans know what's good.
Just mod it in
People praised how for females it has a bosom window while for men there's a dumb window showing nothing at all? Sheesh, some people have a very low bar for praise, then. Equal certainly isn't a word i'd use for it, and i don't mean it should be less "skimpy", if that's the word you wanna use. I simply mean you can't highlight assets that aren't there.Oddly enough, when I joined the game, a common thing people praised was the Hellfire armor or something not discriminating between male and female characters: it had a chest window for both genders. The thing I like about options like this beyond being silly/straight up crossdressing is that it allows more options for players in expressiveness.
I have met several players using the male roe to play a female burly character. Not a dude in a dress, but a lady with unique proportions. Similarly I’ve seen feminine male Au Ra that wouldn’t be out of place in some all female athletic anime. They weren’t trying to be sexy or slutty or silly. Just the body shape that fit the character they wanted to play. And although sparse, they were able to use glamour and body options to make pretty decent androgynous characters.
No no no no no no no, No, ok just no.
I think the overall response was on the tired trope of fantasy armors. For most people, it was refreshing that guys had revealing stupid armor. Usually you only see female characters with the absolutely asinine armor designs that cover absolutely nothing. Whereas men tend to be a bit more covered up.People praised how for females it has a bosom window while for men there's a dumb window showing nothing at all? That is equality. Everyone gets the stupid stuff, even the men
Whether it's good or not is entirely irrelevant~
Also  iunno, I like revealing stuff on guys. It's a fantasy setting where we're guarded by stats and "lol aether" as a justification, I doubt realism is still in the house.
