It sounds like you're making assumptions about how long it takes a FC to meet the requirements for house purchase based on its size.

A solo FC can get to Rank 6 within a few hours of FC creation by spamming Expert Deliveries. All it takes is a little advance preparation by collecting gear received through quick ventures, buying from the marketboard cheap and/or doing some supplemental solo dungeon farming.

Doing it to rank 6 in a few hours is a bit overkill lol. You can't bid for 30 days, no matter what size an fc you have. That is a massive help to put fcs on a more equal footing.

The FCs at a real disadvantage are the genuine small to mid-size FCs formed by relatively new players that are less likely to have the resources of the other two.

New players as in literal level 1 players freshly out the tutorial don't even know what a free company is. I think they are not the ones making new free companies. And even if they are, they have a whole month. If they looked up what a free company is, they can also look up the best ways to rank it up. A legitimate free company with multiple members has more collective time to farm than solo players.

Also, no one told new-ish players to join the most populated NA realms that are congested most of the time. The only reason would be joining friends on their server, but then they would get help building their fc from friends who are not new to the game.

Getting to rank 6 isn't overkill for those who are making the FC for purposes of getting a house. They want it done as fast as possible so the 30 day waiting period is over as fast as possible. You're right about the wait putting everyone on an equal footing but then isn't that the base complaint many have - that shell FCs are equal to larger FCs when it comes to getting a house?

I think you missed where I said "relatively" when referring to new players forming FCs. I'm not talking about the fresh level 1 characters. I'm talking about the players who been playing a couple of months, made some friends (if they didn't join with friends) and made some progress through MSQ. They're generally not going to have the gil to make more than a single bid on even a small and they're not going to know the ins and outs of the game like veteran players do. I wasn't even considering the speed to rank up the FC when making my comments.

And you're naive if you think NA players are going to think about putting their characters on worlds in less populated regions when they start playing the game. They're going to put their characters on the NA worlds because they're NA players. They're only going to consider other regions if they already have friends in those regions or are expatriates living in NA for whatever reason but would like a chance to play with people from "home".

The NA congestion is a problem created by SE though players did have a small hand in it. It was already a problem on most NA worlds even before Shadowbringers and the flood of WoW refugees. It wasn't hard to look at one of the unofficial census trackers to see how much larger NA populations were compared to JP and EU. If JP populations are the size SE is shooting for, then having worlds with 75-125% more population was a problem but SE chose to do nothing about it. Maybe if players didn't spend so much time complaining about "dead worlds" when the worlds were nothing of the sort, SE might have done something sooner.
