No point in roulettes because gear is replaced so quickly. I only did them out of compulsion. Once I took a step back and realised how few of these "dailies" actually needed doing (not many) it was a big relief. I was like OP about a year ago. I dont even bother anymore.

I only do a few if I am levelling a job or if I need tomes to buy Thanalan or Shroud topsoil. Occasionally, I will queue for an AR if need seals in my WT book as there are often new people doing them.

I do several roulettes a day.

    I like healing in dungeons.

If I ever see a healer roulette open, I jump in.

It is like 12,000 gil for 15-mins of work, and I get commendations and healing experience as I do. I have noticed myself becoming far better at dungeons and dealing with 'oh shit' moments because of it.

Yes. I know there are quicker ways to make gil, but nothing as good as playing the game and socialising. I can earn myself a piece of 610 gear every 7 or so dungeons.

I only run roulettes if someone drags me into them, I'd say it ends up being probably less than 5 times over the span of a month.
Queueing for daily roulettes is something I never really have the desire to do but it might be because I don't need to level certain classes or require Materia Clusters/Gil.
I'd rather just do some gathering or crafting instead, or even pvp (which is how i usually cap tomes).

For me a major gripe has always been the Tome Cap. I can understand it back in the day when there were a lot less jobs. Now it's just a pain. I personally think the tome cap needs to go to 900 after the first month. After the first month most Savage races are done and I feel like it's a safe time to loosen the restrictions. For a game that boasts playing all the jobs on one character you can't really. Sure you can get poverty gear for alt jobs but if you wanted to take it serious it's just not an option.

Then there is the case of Ninja. 7 Years on and for some reason it's still stuck using Dexterity Gear. At least when you gear your other melee you have some leeway but it's a lot harder to flex to Ninja as it uses a completely different right side than the rest of the role.

As for the roulettes themselves, I think it's time we get a proper 24man roulette split into ARR/HW/SB and SHB/EW. When you queue for 24man its always a ARR one. [personally I prefer this anyway] However I know many people would prefer to get the higher level ones so I think it's time we got this.

Would also love an EX roulette. Unfortunately the only EX roulette at the minute is via Mentor roulette. I can't stand dungeons, I'd happily wipe for an hour in a trial than do a dungeon.

A lot less jobs? You do know they categorize gear by role right? So new jobs like Reaper and Sage are still within Maiming/Slaying and Healing which is shared among a myriad of jobs. Gearing isnt as obtuse as many people believe it to be.

Not all jobs within a role use the same gear. Just because they are within the same role doesn't mean it's a one size fits all. MNK requires Tome legs whilst the DRG doesn't. NIN needs accesories from another job type entirely. If you only play one job it's not an issue, but when you play all of the jobs equally it's a major pain. For as alt job friendly this game is I still have to run 4 endgame alts just to play different jobs. Really uncalled for.

From personal experience since I play all jobs endgame; I heavily rely on crafted gear (which is still perfectly viable for savage raiding btw) and use my tomestones to spread out my upgrading as I see fit. And with the current Manderville weapons, I can rely on those as well instead of going for extreme farming.

I'm being casual here but I never found gearing to be as daunting as other people make it out to be.

I do agree that in terms of getting bis, its extremely not alt-friendly at all and they need to come up with better solutions for players to get multiple upgrades for their roles. But its not something I heavily seek for when I'm doing the content anyway.

I wouldn't feel bad if I were you. Only because the tomestones can be achieved by other means, and you don't have to go down the rolo list. The rolos are good if you want to speed things up, but are not required.

I dont get to do them every day and I do feel sad and disappointed about that. I feel like I wasted time. And this is the job/fomo mentality I tried very hard to get away from in WoW. Its definitely no where in the same ball bark as fomo in WoW if you miss something time sensitive, but it still bothers me.
