So C9 is not okay because it favors ranged, but volcano map is somehow okay even if it favors melees (and some casters that don't give a shit about walls anymore now...)? Have you tried even casting on volcano map? It's hell

As someone who plays almost exclusively BLM and BRD in CC I love the volcano map. LOS works both ways and doesn't favor melee any more than it does ranged. Its much easier to get away when there is a lot of cover around you. An open map is slightly easier on a ranged, but its also way easier to dive on a ranged player out in the open as well with little to no options for escape routes because....its an open area. C9 is straight trash for everyone. Its just slightly less trash if you're ranged and not getting dived on...which only happens in low ranks because people don't know how to focus fire.

Meanwhile, Palaistra offers nothing interesting and was virtually unwinnable on my end for whatever reason. If any map gets canned they should start there.

How about no more of this "rotation" thing where people can ask "which map is currently up?" and instead make the map be selected once you are at 10/10 players ready?

That's how the old Feast maps before Crystal Tower used to work, like with Wolves Den Pier and Lichenweed.

Yeah, I don't understand why they wouldn't have done this from the start. Letting people "dodge" maps that they consider "bad" is a pretty bad design concept for... well, reasons we're seeing.
