Honestly, having jumped on NA servers on many different MMOs (including FF14)
The discussion is MUCH more intense. It trends heavily towards politics, abuse, etc.
There is a MASSIVE culture difference between NA and European servers (for instance).

Stay away from Balmung Ul'dah and all is gucci.

Dunno we are mighty fine and nice over here to each other, something i never experienced while switching 2 years over to NA to play with a friend back then in stormblood.
But yeah, we are not japanese, duh. That isn't as shocking to us as you might think, though i have some few japanese friends over here on EU. But you are right, Europeans are not japanese, usually. You should get a Nobel prize for this shocking revelation.

I'd consider even the most toxic EU/NA player I've ever met so far to be a well-adjusted adult in comparison.

"ok yes I understand I am not japanese"
ok then you also understand you are not really all that different from NA in the eyes of the public right?

I mean we kinda are though. <shrugs> Alone for the fact that many people on EU are not english speaking players. But hey i can only speak for myself and my own experiences. And i can say that, out of my own experience, EU is muuuuch nicer~
And if that hurts your feelings then well tough luck. I am happy over here. And happy that SE seem to listen to their JP playerbase, which perfectly aligns with my wishes.
But hey if you have any valid arguments after all, would be happy to hear them. I mean if you try hard enough i bet you can produce something more eloquent than "You are not japanese". Cause to be fair you are also not French nor German. Shocking i know but well many of EU players are in fact well Europeans! But yeah i leave you to that, you are onto something i guess! Can't wait for your next thesis, maybe that cheese isn't bread! Or that water is wet!
By 'culture' difference, I mean beyond the realms of gameplay.
Americans, as a whole, tend to be very loud and abrupt. A lot more offensive stuff in their chat. Racism in their Free Companies, etc. etc. Americans place a much bigger 'focus' on politics. I have seen people get kicked out of guilds on MMOs because they didn't share the same political views as the guild owner. That has never happened in any of my European guilds. Why? Cos people just don't give a crap about discussing politics with others, nor judging people on it like it is a team sport.
Lots of political discussion when you have a world chat on a server (which luckily FF14 does not)
Americans are also very me-centric. The world has to revolve around the individual. That is actually one of the reasons why panel shows haven't worked in the US but have in every country. Everybody is in it for themselves rather than the good of the group. This me-centric thing is something that really has an impact on gameplay. Note how the vast majority of World 1sts in MMOs are from Europeans and not Americans. Europeans tend to work better as teams.
You wouldn't get that on European servers.
The only American server I can stomach playing is ESO NA on Xbox, and that is only because nobody actually uses the chat system there.
It is actually quite a surprise, because Europe is filled with multiple countries that know how to work together, and the US (despite what Americans believe) is a single country with fairly unified beliefs across the board, and yet still can't work together in anything.
The rest would be a MASSIVE culture clash. It would be a complete shit-show, like it is on Black Desert Online (which brings American and European servers together).
Happy for Europe to share servers with Australia and Canada (as their ideals are very British), but Americans need to be kept out of it.
