Anyway, back on topic, UI updates for Island stuff. Hopefully instead of clicking each and every animal or crop to resume services, I can just click a singular button and get everything into my isleventory and resume services because good lord that's the most irritating "why did you not just make this the norm" thing about Island Sanctuary for me. Hopefully the retainer change is crafting from their inventory instead of needing to pull everything out, I can only hope.
The Physical/Magic damage indicator.
It boggles my mind that it took this long for it to be introduced considering Dark Knight has been sitting on two cooldowns specifically for Magic Damage.
It only took us 7 years to get something people were asking for consistently.
It barely took them any time at all to decide on giving us Island Sanctuary.
#Priorities.
People have been asking for damage types being shown since Dark mind was a thing. Probably even sooner as foresight only blocked physical damage.
SE deserves praise for a lot of things, but this is not one of them.
Yeah, this one is more of a case of "About time...what took you so long?"
Oh you know why. Garbage priorities.
The community asked them for so much crap by now and their usual response is "can't be done, soz, too hard".
Literally the bare minimum they could do, translate ears on an axis and toggle a boolean they disabled to make visible again. And their answer was "soz too hard". Hairstyles and Headgear? Nah fam, can't do that, despite half the fanbase being in agreement with it and asking them to reconsider. And so much other crap. This is a feature that's been asked for 7 years. By a whole swathe of different people.
But only because a little plug-in allowed people to prepare better, they suddenly work on it.
Meanwhile, who realistically asked for Island Sanctuary? Who asked for the Fellowship system?
I'm not going to say they're useless and no one wanted them. Quite a lot of people did. But you can't compare that to the amount of people asking for all these things for years now.
Their priorities are all askew. People have been asking for QoL features for so long to the point where it feels like a gift when they finally provide. When really they need to acknowledge the disconnect they have with their own community and maybe listen a little harder. Rather than coming up with excuses, actively listen to stuff that should be implemented, stuff that's honestly pretty simple all things considered. I mentioned hairstyles and headgear; ok fine, I'll admit, that does require a lot more work involved than UI changes like these. But putting ears back on hairstyles? Did it really require people to wait months on end? Did they need to wait this long to give us buff timers on the party list or display damage types?
Its honestly something companies and dev teams usually prioritize in the philosophy of "if it isnt completely broke, put it into file it for later bin". And this is where I believe mods theoretically are at fault with it. Since not only does it provide the solution, albeit by illegal means, but it also makes the problem more complacent even when you have people still ask for those QoL changes. Yeah, the only reason they probably finally addressed certain QoL upgrades are due to them being in the spotlight recently with the amount of people getting loose with their addon usage in public.Oh you know why. Garbage priorities.

But its also disingenous to say that the team hasnt been applying QoL changes until now. If you look at past patch notes, we've been getting QoL stuff frequently, yet somehow we just ignore it?
I havent really thought about favorites in terms of QoL but I want to give a shoutout to the retainer changes. My retainers are long overdue for a fashion change but currently that's too much of a hassle for me to care.
