Oh btw Ilmerain is on an established server attached to a dozen jp servers that are full to bursting, if you move to a new NA server you are attached to to other established NA servers..OCE is not in either of these categories and you know it.

I know this as well as you do but the reality is. If people stay and intentionally work to BUILD the community that is needed to get all those things you want so badly it will succeed. People are not willing to do that(including yourself). It is hard to do. In the absence of DC travel it is however the only choice if Materia is to thrive in the long game.

I know very well what his DC is like and what mine on NA are like or for that matter EU. Materia got a raw deal, I know that. I was there remember. The truth is if no one plays there its dead in the water. If no one is willing to make the sacrifices and create the community to make it work its doomed. Because the odds of getting DC travel anytime soon are slim and none.

I did. For months. Even cross realm it took me THREE WEEKS to get one specific dungeon done. The fact is that the majority wont move because 1. friends 2. houses 3. ping ( SEA jp vs OCE ), even if I stay, others are already bailing.

I never said you don't and neither did he. The reality however is it isn't coming soon if it ever comes at all. The only thing you can do is keep trying to make it work or bail and not worry about the success of it.

No it won't happen in a few months. It might well take till the next expansion. If everyone bails however it will NEVER happen.

Edit: You can either be part of the solution or part of the problem. I fully admit I am part of the problem in that I left and wouldn't go back even if you got DC travel. The Ping just doesn't work for me.

I totally get how you feel. Like I said I loved being on Zurvan. Wonderful bunch of people. I had to face the reality that I just can't help without creating a problem for those people in instances. If I didn't have the ping problems I would still be there even though you are not. I believe the servers can be made to work. It is just going to take time and patience. Maybe more patience than many folk have.

One option to keep the community healthy, if one does move away for high end content, is to alt when one has the chance. It's still feet on the ground then. And if it's alt from LATAM, EU or SEA, so that ping is shocking, it can be a social alt.

My main is still in Materia and very active there. I am also grinding up a few FCs on Dynamis for subs, and I have a Canadian friend on Aether who I play with each day.

It doesn't need to be all in on one server. Materia is great during our peak, as the NA players are asleep. Less so for JP, as it's close to their peak.

Just my 2 cents, we can only keep pushing yoshi, in the long run.

Shibi I just had a long talk in Discord voice about all this with Vel. I flat told him he needs to get with you and work out some ideas on how to make things work. You have kept a positive attitude through all off this and see the good in Materia. I really believe if you guys can find a way to make a community that offers things people want to be involved in then you will see people staying or even rolling new.

It is no secret Vel and I have been dear friends for years across several games. I would be right in there fighting along side both of you if I could.

I understand your frustration with the situation; not being able to find groups for content you want to do is *extremely* frustrating. I encounter it almost every day since I'm 11-13 hours behind my server's main population. What I do have, and acknowledge that I have available, is an MB and a crew of degenerates who stay up late and socialize so I don't always lack for people to interact with. I say interact with specifically as it's RP and general socializing, not dungeon running or things like that.

Now that there are so few people playing, weekdays at the times I can play are a no-go as are mid-day Saturday and noon on Sunday onward. Even though Elemental's got a robust population, I may as well be on a different DC for as much good as it does. Again, I'll re-affirm, it was my choice to start playing on Atomos and it's my choice to continue being there so I have to accept the results of my choice.

I truly do hope you're able to build the Materia community. If DC travel between OCE/NA/EU will accomplish that, then I hope you get it sooner rather than later.

This is a good point, as an Australian playing on Elemental the timezones that group content is run is a few hours out from when I'd like to personally run it, which is just only mildly inconvenient. I moved to Materia when the servers were new but none of my friends followed so I went back, and nowsdays I hear it's basically dead. If we did get DC travel I'd basically always be on Materia for the ping and small group content, then visit other worlds when I want to play with friends whom I have on JP, OCE and NA, I don't want to have 3 different alts. I would love to see international DC travel.
