FOMO rewards are something I oppose on principle, like for PvE rewards are not tied to a timed limited basis, you can still do ultimates, clear them and get their respective rewards, and PvE in FF is far more polished than PvP. In PvP not only you have to deal with things like random and uncoordinated teams, lack of a per-job basis rank, the horrid netcode of the game, not to mention cheating and other things that have gone unaddressed for entire patches (hacking, win trading and so on).
If you really want to attract people to Crystaline conflict and PvP for that matter, glamour rewards should come on a more consistent basis, same with mounts. Those who want to go for ranked should keep the same rewards as there are now titles/frames/trophies. But SE seriously needs to add more items in exchange for trophies, and make at least 1 glamour armor set per season and series
So explain to me for what reason I should play Ranked other than getting the same Bronze-to-Crystal Portrait kits when I have a surplus of Trophy Crystals from Casual alone and Ranked offering nothing unique other than ugly borders that I already own?FOMO rewards are something I oppose on principle, like for PvE rewards are not tied to a timed limited basis, you can still do ultimates, clear them and get their respective rewards, and PvE in FF is far more polished than PvP. Unless you mean Trophy Crystals, Rank #1 lost access to their housing trophy as well.trophies

Well, in theory, it's the only way to have games with people who can press Recuperate, Purify and Elixir... And who can do more than 100k damage in 5 minutes. But yeah, not having to play with completely useless players is pretty much your only reward.
I do agree that there's a problem with the current Ranked queues, because as you mentioned, there are virtually no rewards. I got the Crystal rewards myself during the first Season and see no point in participating in Ranked anymore.
BUT. They will never bring back the exclusivity ranked PvP offered. There's multiple reasons they decided to remove it, and they won't bring it back for those exact reason. Number 1 reason being, and I think many of you know this is a big problem in every online videogame: Boosting. Being paid boosting or friends wintrading with each other, it was a big issue.
I don't miss the toxicity we had during the Feast because of the exclusive (good) rewards it (occasionally) offered. I don't want to see that happen in Crystalline too.
The "Battle Pass" we currently have works perfectly. Doesn't matter if you win or loose, doesn't matter if you play ranked or casual, doesn't matter what rank you are, you will always get experience as long as you play, and it lasts A LONG TIME, 4 entire months, 2 Seasons.
Now, I don't think there's a perfect solution. But you know what they could do? Remove Ranked queue entirely and relocate those rewards to casual. The first 100 players that complete the Battle pass will receive Crystal, next 200 Diamond, then Plat, and so on. That way everybody has a reason to play, the amount of games you play actually matter towards your "rank" and victories giving slightly more experience would make a difference. Just an idea. It would make the entirety of pvp dead tho, since the Battle Pass lasts way too long and you'd have no reason to play once completed.

While I can understand the ever-recurring sentiment and fear of win-trading and boosting, I believe it is a little sad that we have to take all these safeguards just to ensure no potential reward can ever go to a few wrong person, resulting in many legit players who won't get anything either. Now, I don't think there's a perfect solution. That said, your suggested system is essentially just re-inventing the wheel, with the Battle Pass being tied to all three PvP Modes now though. People will math the fun out of matches and which mode is optimal to play rather than learning how to get good at one particular mode with their job of choice / job they think they will perform best with. I'd argue, a worse system.
Right? christ.... @osmond

instead of ranked they could instead invest the energy and manpower into making FUN MODES, they could also put RW into the rouletteI do agree that there's a problem with the current Ranked queues, because as you mentioned, there are virtually no rewards. Absolutely, finding a solution that isn't flawed in some way is definitely hard.

Awful idea. The fastest way to complete the series is to throw matches. I don't even need to math it out. It takes maybe 30 seconds to just walk the crystal to the goal and you get 700 Points per loss. There is zero reason to sweat it out for 5 minutes if you only reward is just extra 200 points. On top of that, this simply favours those with more time to play and leads to people rushing all their PvP in a few days and then not touching it until a new series. We had this with Restoration. It was an awful experience. Now, I don't think there's a perfect solution. But you know what they could do? Remove Ranked queue entirely and relocate those rewards to casual.
