Also true is that people have no patience these days and are not willing to deal with things being slow to build up to something better possible a year in the future.

Before anyone says "You left Materia as soon as the new NA servers went up." Yes I did. I went to Materia in the first place to play with a dear friend and help build the server. I played there for months. By the time I hit mid Heavensward I realized that my ping on Materia was making me a serious liability to any group I played with. I literally don't see the marks on the floor before they go off. It worked in ARR because I know that content so well I anticipated what was coming. Bismark? well I jumped right off the platform because it looked like he had just pulled along side when in reality he had already left. That was my wakeup call. I can't play at 400 one way 4000 the other way on a good day. I would have happily stayed on Zurvan as I loved the server. It just wasn't playable at all for me.

I don't read that as him being against DC travel. I read a pretty accurate description of what is happening. If people don't do what it takes to build the server then it WILL fail. We don't have DC travel we have no idea when or if we will get it. The only way to build materia is to stay there and play on it.

Now I say that as someone who is just as guilty as I have left albeit for different reasons. That doesn't make him wrong.

Oh btw Ilmerain is on an established server attached to a dozen jp servers that are full to bursting, if you move to a new NA server you are attached to to other established NA servers..OCE is not in either of these categories and you know it.

I know this as well as you do but the reality is. If people stay and intentionally work to BUILD the community that is needed to get all those things you want so badly it will succeed. People are not willing to do that(including yourself). It is hard to do. In the absence of DC travel it is however the only choice if Materia is to thrive in the long game.

I know very well what his DC is like and what mine on NA are like or for that matter EU. Materia got a raw deal, I know that. I was there remember. The truth is if no one plays there its dead in the water. If no one is willing to make the sacrifices and create the community to make it work its doomed. Because the odds of getting DC travel anytime soon are slim and none.

I did. For months. Even cross realm it took me THREE WEEKS to get one specific dungeon done. The fact is that the majority wont move because 1. friends 2. houses 3. ping ( SEA jp vs OCE ), even if I stay, others are already bailing.

I never said you don't and neither did he. The reality however is it isn't coming soon if it ever comes at all. The only thing you can do is keep trying to make it work or bail and not worry about the success of it.

No it won't happen in a few months. It might well take till the next expansion. If everyone bails however it will NEVER happen.

Edit: You can either be part of the solution or part of the problem. I fully admit I am part of the problem in that I left and wouldn't go back even if you got DC travel. The Ping just doesn't work for me.
