You know, it's sad really. We HAD one. The sadly often-forgotten Moenbryda Wilfsunnwyn.

She was unique amongst the Scions if you really think about it - under-represented race, a job/class that no other Scion covered (Marauder) and although she was clearly very well educated she, unlike a certain Miqo'te Waifu, had a personality beside that. And she had good chemistry with Urianger.
So naturally

I certainly don't blame people who think a lot of Hrothgar's look alike, but with not too many options for Helion colors combined with the state of their hairstyles of course things will get repetitive. That's why the race as a whole needs more attention to get it up to speed - I would like to think that a Hrothgar party member would have their own unique hairstyle like both Y'shtola, Estinien, Thancred, the twins, and Ryne have gotten over the years. The only one to stick out like a sore thumb in that department is Urianger, who reuses a hairstyle from Final Fantasy Type-0.

Give em a long slicked back lion's mane and beard. :3

And since quite a few Hrothgar were conscripts of the Garleans, maybe he could be one and maybe even another former member of Gunhildr's Blades.

I can imagine this character being a rather unusually large Hrothgar covered in scars from head to toe and wielding a massive axe.

Whilst I'm not really an advocate for comic-book style resurrections of dead characters I do wish we could've seen more of her. I mean, in the grand scheme of things she wasn't really with the Scions for very long, but her part in the overall story was a lot more significant than it is generally given credit for. And whilst upsetting, her passing ended up being overshadowed by Haurchefant and Ysayle, with very little reference being made to her until we meet her parents in Endwalker.

main characters need to look memorable and honestly I don't see how you can make a memorable looking Hrothgar, all of them just blend together for me

Honestly, same. I have a small group of friends who for some reason love Hrothgar, and I have to CONSTANTLY be looking at their names to know who is who. All the NPCs look and sound the same too. Im pretty sure they are all the same person.
