No.WOW couldn't maintain an Aus/NZ population either,
WOW considers anyone who isnt American as a 3rd class customer, full stop, they could do loads, they just dont CARE.
Huge difference.

You old movie buff you...yauping
Not so, Dixie, SE has to me a much better attitude towards its customers, we cant say they dont communicate and at least they TRY..which is more than I can say for some. No one is perfect, things can always be better. but credit where its due.
In the same way new players are based on Phantom EU ( a new server ) but connected to other established EU servers. If OCE was connected to other established servers it would help growth by expanding the pool of players for all kinds of content..which is what should have happened at incept.Yes, and what would be the benefit to the overall game of having your character based in Materia but doing all your gameplay in (say) Elemental versus simply being based in Elemental to begin with?
As it is OCE is isolated from ALL the other communities with NO DC travel either way.

Materia needs help. If anything it's possible it might get worse with people who might decide to go to the new NA servers. I personally don't think it's too late to move one japan server there or two and DC travel to the EU or Japan should be a thing.
I'm able to get my endgame stuff done there but I usually do it early in the week and for me Sophia is a chilly server where I can spend time. I have alts on many DC's and servers. Thinking about transferring a Gilga alt to the new Dynamis DC.
SE should not allow Materia to languish in the state it's in at the moment. 5 servers with no DC travel option is ridiculous and unfair to those there in my view.

Having a mass of player residing in Materia is the first step they need, while still able to do contents outside the DC.
Once it has enough mass, they don't have to go to other DC to play anymore.
You are missing the point.
Aussies that live in jp servers could come TO Materia WITHOUT leaving their FC or houses or friends. THAT is the key, a lot of people did not want to leave that behind, so dc travel will allow them to VISIT and play on Materia. Best of both worlds.
No. I, and the majority of the original members of my FC, rolled on Atomos because we were tired of the BS found in Western MMOs as long ago as 2.0. With the majority of us being expats living in, or former residents of, Japan, our experiences with going back to visit Western MMOs since we started playing XIV showed us that the behavior we got away from had only gotten worse. If we wanted to play on an NA or EU server, we'd have rolled on one. We're not the only group to feel this way.
Leave all JP servers and DCs separate from NA/EU/OCE.
Do not take a server from Elemental and transfer it to Materia. All the people who wanted to go there in the first place already went. Forcibly relocating people to a completely different region than where they are now is a recipe for significant problems with the player base.
I suggest you post on the main you abandoned Materia on to return to Tonberry. You might maintain more credibility that way.
I also suggest you take a look at this: https://luckybancho.ldblog.jp/wsurve...orld=Elemental Elemental's 68.5% JP and only 27.5% EN; it's still overwhelmingly Japanese.

So you are against DC travel as well? If so, why? The point I have raised about people on JP servers is quite valid. DC travel would enable them to keep their friends and houses where they are, and enable them to play alongside OCE.Leave all JP servers and DCs separate from NA/EU/OCE.
Player agency is a good thing, no?
