    I agree that the plot seems to move too fast and skim over how quickly everyone is accepting of things, but I think the simplest way to look at it is as a condensement of what should be at a longer process. Ultimately they only have so many plot quests they can devote to this.

    At the same time, why shouldn't individuals from those races be willing to put aside their differences and find a chance at happiness? It's only the Karellians who are as a race at odds with each other, while the dragons might not all be on board with making peace with the Omicrons – but we found one out of the many who was willing to forgive them. And Vidofnir we already know is willing to make peace.

    Everyone else, they're not at war, they're just depressed or bored or both, and the café offers them a spark of joy. Why shouldn't they immediately react positively to that?

    If you think this quest should be "on the serious side", what is on that side? What lengthy exploration do we need to embark on before we can have some happier elements to this plot?
