To anyone basing world pop on login queues, please go have a look at how they work, its a funnel that lets 2 people in per x seconds, there was a post about how it worked back on Endwalker launch when server queues broke the game.

Check out XIVcensus website for population data. The entirety of endgame characters (level 90 in any job) is equal to one server on any other datacenter. Not a datacenter, ONE SERVER. And that's including all the inactive accounts.

In total its around 14k players.

OCE either needs to be paired with another region or it's just dead and everyone should move and force SQE's hand in the matter.

Materia being part of NA might be viable, just as OCE and NA are part of the same group in WoW, but do keep in mind ping - as someone who did many late night WoW PUGs which had Aussie leads, I'm painfully aware that the ping between the two is a whopping 200-250ms on a good night, and I'm not quite sure how friendly Endwalker is to such high latency.

I can comment on this as an NA player (located in EST) who recently went back to OCE to check out the situation in the present. Ping is a non-issue to me, the only times I've had lag were from internet issues on my end (yay extender problems) and I've done several Endwalker trials. Still end up being able to avoid all mechs and do the same damage I would be doing on NA.

1. The login queues are fake. The worlds are never full. They just slow down the logins to avoid errors when too much people login at once.
2. PF peak times fall down very quick, because Aussies don't stay up late like SEA players. You're telling me that 20-30 PF (not just including savage) at peak time is good? That is so delusional.
3. Duty finder peak hour? You mean a good measly 8 hour peak times for using duty finder, and any late night monkey gets to suffer waiting in queue for a lot longer after that? And to you, that means the duty finder in OCE is in a good state? I can go on NA, where it will be morning for them, night time for me, and I can get into a duty more faster than OCE.
4. Bozja and Eureka community have the biggest community to set more events where people all go in the instance at the same time to do content compared to OCE. You don't know that, because you don't bother trying to look for a dedicated discord for it. Stop misinforming people.

I said casual CC has a little measly 9 hour peak time, so trying to queue for it outside that peak time is either gonna take almost forever or not even pop even pop at all. Where as you can queue any time on other data centers, and it will pop with no problem.

I don't understand why you try so hard to play devil's advocate just to have a go at someone who's hurting your feelings that your data center is absolutely awful and is going to crumble if the issue keeps lingering for much longer. All you've shown us was how ignorant and complacent you are.

There is about a 2 hour window you can get things done in. If you play outside those hours, you just can't do anything.

When SE announced the OCE datacentre and also said they had the capability to have regional travel, we thought for sure they would open it up. Even if it was just to NA. Not only have they decided not to, OCE has never been mentioned again. Nothing in live letters, no advertising, it's just...been left to rot. And it's rotting

We've had several raid groups come back to Behemoth again. People don't want to leave, we enjoy the community but the truth is no one can play the game. There's just not enough people. And quite literally everyone saw this coming. We all knew.

I hope SE moves on this sooner than later But considering the OCE datacentre seems to exist only to relieve Japanese of their gaijin on Tonberry problem, I don't think we're high on the list of things they care about.

Everyone has to learn to play nice with each other before that'll happen. And I mean everyone. As far as Square is concerned we'll all just ruin each other's DCs.

Part of the problem is that people so incensed by the queue times have moved their characters back. They have the right to do so, but it won't fix the problem.

Personally, I started a new character and now that character has even more levels and jobs than my main does. I try to help out as much as I can with people's Party Finders. If I could do more to help people get their duties done, I would. I am just disappointed that people didn't want to try and support SE in supporting us with a local data centre.

You have very embarrassing comprehension skills and you argue like a child. I don't know why I should even bother continuing the conversation with you when you can't even make a decent rebuttal. So let me end this exchange between us with this.

Angry isn't even close to what I'm feeling for you. You just made me feel very uncomfortable the way you blindly defend SE while turning a blind eye to the issues that's going on in your own data center. This is exactly why people have complained about FFXIV players having toxic positivity when the players who do complain just want the developers to make the right decisions so that their experience is better in the game. Materia data center is absolutely miserable state right now for players that do try to engage in a lot of content, but I'm holding onto it because I'm hoping something gets done by very early 2023.

I am completely aware that that they will have cross region data center travel, but if they were gonna hold off from that for a long time, they should of not released Materia data center unless they were going to have cross region data center travel implemented right after. Defending SE about this is just dumb. I don't know how any person with at least one brain cell could think that this business decision was in any way smart. A data center with a small playerbase is going to be even more small when they get fed up with not being able to do the content that they want. Can we please have a bit more common sense here.

To be fair, SE probably just didn't know what would happen. But now that we can see what is happening it looks like cross-DC travel would help.
