All Worlds Login Difficulties (Mar. 27)

SE is nothing if not consistant. Last world merge in FFXI it was 27 hours after the start when most ppl got get back on.

Same staff same mistakes. You would think people learn from their mistakes but FFXIV's launch is a good indication that S-E does not.

edit: on another note... is this affecting everyone and every server or is it just some specific servers or accounts? Is anyone currently able to login?

Logged in once, and had to force myself to log off so I can move all my macros and stuff over into the new folder...

Now it's back into trying to log on again...

Lucky you. My game didn't seem to be capable of writing the new folders. After 15 minutes of fighting the lobby server, I logged on and was booted within seconds by the same error people have complained about since 1.21--the first time I've ever seen it. WHY NOW...? T _ T

I thought, "Hm, this could work to my advantage, since I can fix the folders now! :]" But guess again. The game didn't even write them.

Well, technically, this might satisfy the people who really want XIV to be a throwback to XI.

Then again, I miss a lot of elements from XI but lengthy patches and not being able to log in is not one of them.

I apologise for the issues regarding the worlds crashing when you login after the world merge.

Right now the server team are working hard to bring back stability and are handling each case one by one. I deeply apologise and I would be really grateful if you could wait just a little more until we get an update.

I can't even get to the character select screen... Just gets stuck loading, then finally crashes with the "Unable to detect DirectX device. The program has shut down. Please restart FINAL FANTASY XIV"

Is there a problem with the lobby server, too? I think there is, but Yoshi said they're working on stopping worlds from crashing.

Or are the TIMEOUT errors we're all seeing because each server is having to constantly log back in?
