I call it bah humbug season for a reason. I really can't stand it. Forced cheer is not for me. I will do what I always do for bah humbug. Pack the hubby off to his family for the day and stay home alone and enjoy the peace and quiet. Heavenly.

"Gaijin no gomi", meaning "the trash of foreigners"? Bit of an exaggeration, no?You just answered your own question. Square Enix is a JAPANESE company. Almost 1/3 of the players are Japanese. Yoshida is Japanese. They have no reason to cater to us whatsoever. If you don’t appreciate their culture, don’t play their game. It’s that simple. Plenty of American games have Halloween events. You don’t go to Japan to promote gaijin no gomi and FFXIV is no different.
You hit the nail on the head. They don’t owe us ANYTHING. The sub for this game is cheaper than Netflix. Yoshida pours his blood, sweat and tears into this game and we pay pennies in exchange. I think we should be grateful that we’re getting anything at all. This isn’t Blizzard that we’re talking about here, this is Square Enix. They’re doing what they can with the small amount of resources that they have.
