Please re-allow the gifting of one-time consumables on the MogStation

TL;DR

Most of the items are un-giftable and those that are; are restricted in ways that end up being unviable for FC and Community event giveaways. The reasoning is cracking down on RMT. Mounts and minions specifically a question mark because the reason given is "in case they are already owned."

Longterm it's probably going to work out better, though they did shoot themselves in the foot recently (imho) since they also hurt the legitimate and largely involved community overal. Weekly, venues and free companies have been known to give away items from the store as incentive to attend. (I personally won a fat cat attire outfit that i gifted to a friend just before all this)

Thanks for the explanation. But, since the store is selling stuff for real money, was RMT ever really an issue? Thats what I dont get. An RMT seller needs to buy the item and resell it at a profit for it to be viable, but it would be cheaper for buyers to just use the official store.

Couldnt they just have made items untradable but giftable to a specific player from the storefront.

yes! I can't really fault sqenix. Since a large portion of those RMT selling gift codes are assumed to be purchased with stolen financial information. (This rings true to me) It could be sold for $1 less, be cheaper for the buyer and give the RMT 100% profit.

I think the whole friends and social system needs a rework from square one. There is a myriad of reasons I could list, but most to the point would be the recent integration to the cash shop.
