    Expand the armoir. At the least, all of the glamour gear from the main story should be able to be stored in it. Or, alternately (and preferably), just a straight-up glamour log like WoW.
    MMOs survive by being accessible to as many people as possible. It is why it took ages for wow to get a graphical overhaul. You don't want to alienate a good chunk of your player base.

    For many games played by non-gamers, of which ff14 is one, you want to make it as accessible as possible.

    Other games like this include the sims, where EA waits a long time between releases as most of the players will never upgrade their comp. They essentially wait for those old computers to die off.

    GEARING
    The maximum item level increases less often, but there are more options at each level. The current model has only 2 options at the highest item level (savage raid and augmented tomestone). I would have 4 or 5 options, each coming from different kinds of content.

    One of them would be the aetherial gear that used to exist, with randomized secondary stats. Some people disliked those sets because they didn't want potentially best-in-slot gear to come from an RNG grind. The solution to that is to cap the maximum potential stats of this type of gear at less than the savage raid gear, so it's never BiS. Raiding is still the way to get the strongest gear with fixed stats, but aetherial is a good option for other players (and a timesink content to farm them unless you get lucky on high stats early).

    Another option could be ultra-rare, tradeable gear. It could be given a yellow icon color and be a potential drop on the final room of treasure map dungeons and deepest floors of deep dungeons, or guaranteed by 3 lines on Wondrous Tails. There needs to be tradeable items that are actually useful to people for a healthy economy, and things that are actually rare to maintain a high value.

    CONTENT VARIETIES
    You can get so much more mileage from the mountain of assets in this game.

    Let's say there's some crystal caverns where memories are manifest. Enemies and bosses from elsewhere in the game are spawned in random formations. The next boss or wave of enemies will spawn at set time intervals, whether you've finished the previous boss or not. This could create some new combinations; say you're already fighting crystalline Twintania but then you see spotlights dancing on the floor and... it's King Mog spawning. Now you're fighting both.

    Bosses would only use a subset of moves they used in their original encounters so as not to produce any unfair combinations when paired with something else. If you are too slow at killing things and no more can be spawned due to tech limits then you receive permanent vuln stacks at the next spawn time instead. Something like that but you get the idea, some kind of battle arena where old enemies can be recycled in new patterns with random elements.

    Another thing that could be nice is defensive missions. There used to be like a caravan escort in V1, forgot if it had another name. I like the idea of helping merchants at certain times of day, with bonus items added to local merchants if their deliveries are protected. One FATE chain is like that in Eastern Thanalan, but you could expand that idea into larger content with better rewards.

    Horizontal progression.

    1. Multiple skill trees for individual jobs or roles.

    2. Elemental and physical wheel application. (Fire ice debuffs, slashing piercing debuffs. Etc.)

    3. Additional stats. (TP MP accuracy etc.)

    4. Gear stat and ability customization to gear.

    5. Open world. Dungeons, trials, raids, experience camps.

    6. Better interaction with older content.

    Re: Job Stones,

    Require them after level 35. Require every single weapon after that to require a job stone.

    To incentivize it even more, add the level 30 spell / ability ON the job stone (you get it when you equip it) to help a bit with the synced content.

    Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
    Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
    Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

    Character creation additions & improvements- not related to textures or resolution or shading
    But actual additions to character creator
    It has not been updated aside from new races being added

    I would want each race to be updated starting with adding new faces
    All male races can wear full beards
    I want beard textures, from wavy to curly to coiled & braided

    Eyebrows for Highlanders

    Better hairstyles that come with more variety because currently, 97% of them are flat hair- there are no real long hairs, braids, curls, mohawks, up-do's, anything with actual length
    I want more NPC hairstyles like Yugiri & Gaia's hairstyle

    Add more make-up styles and options to wear more than 1 at a time
    Add matte lipstick so you don't have to only have gross, glossy lips

    Give each race more customization in regards to their specific identities:

    Au Ra would get more horns with tints to add whatever colour to their horns and scales seen on NPCs - I'd give them fang options as well and more Au Ra based hairstyles

    Miqo'te I would blend their features regardless of clan, because seekers of sun & keepers of moon do mix
    All miqo'te's would get spotted ears, fangs and males would get better beards
    Miqo'te would get customizable face stripes
    More miqo'te based hairstyles

    Roegadyn would also get the same treatment, options to have mixed looking roe's as well as beards for males & more roe specific hairstyles as well as bigger butts/ thighs

    Pretty much, I'd just want more options that are better than what we have

    I'd also add an underwear set option so not every race wears the same silky cloth- but can wear leaves, hide or fur

    And a butt/buldge slider

    • In savage if you didn't get an item you get 2 books instead of one
    • Adding a token at the end of the alliance raid similar to the savage raid to purchase the raid items

    JOB DESIGN
    • Adding different damage skill rotations for healers to make them more unique and fun to play

    STORY INTERACTION / DIRECTION
    • Stop making new content tied to old and long optional sidequests (The current hildibrand questline for the relic is crazy for people who never did it)

    OTHER BIG QUALITY-OF-LIFE CHANGES
    • Materia gear plate (You will never have to change you every time everytime you switch jobs withing the same role)

    Within equal tightness of balance, so is job choice beyond the best each of each incentivized category (obliging 1 of the best melee, physical ranged, magical ranged, healer, and tank, and then an additional 1 each of damage, healer, and tank). That doesn't make those choices uncompelling.
