Parking job-specific glams for lesser played jobs in the same role using lower iLvl equipment saved to gearsets is something I've been doing since Shadowbringers (MUCH easier now with the expanded armory chest), but I'll also utilize glam plates for alternate outfits for my 'main' jobs.
Use the glamour dresser and glamour plates. Putting items in the glamour dresser only costs 1 prism per item deposit. You don't have to pay repeatedly to apply the glamours like you do when you glamour things by hand.

???
In what way is it a waste to reapply glamours at no cost of materiel or gil?
That's exactly what glamour plates are for. If you're refusing to use them that's on you.

Inserting items into the dresser costs prisms, but once they're in there, they can be used infinitely at no further cost.
It does charge you for using dispellers to remove glamours if you do that via the plate menu, but that's only relevant if one of your outfits uses the base appearance of the equipment, and the easier route for that is to put the item in the dresser, add it to the glamour plate and remove the original gear piece again to keep using it.
Also, there's no need to remove your original posts just because your question has been answered or information changed. It's much better for people who come along later to be able to read the entire conversation.
