If Yoshida is gonna go with original jobs of their creation, then maybe something beastmaster-esc could work for Krile. Like with the whole Summoner thing being pointed out above.
What if Krile takes a piece of a animal, monster, etc essence and essentially use that bit to go into a trance state that allows her access to all of their abilities temporarily? Like how Bahamut used to work with the trance system back in HW. Could also make for a nice nod to her experience being possessed by Hydealyn.
well they solved that issue by making everything have 2 min burst.
and they can't sell an expac without having a new dps job because the playerbase thinks tanking and healing are hard.
Because of course, what yoshi p says always comes true! Meanwhile two races still can't use headgear. I'm sure balance will improve with intern-san having to do two more jobs. Or maybe theyll become more homogenized to cut back on workload, probably the latter.
That being said, there isn't really much to be gained from new jobs being added. The one limited job we have is essentially forgotten content at this point, so adding another isnt going to help things (because content in xiv is a zero sum game). And with regards to the regular jobs, we're already at the point where practically every single FF job has representation or a direct equivalent already, hence them having to add reaper and sage which arent even FF jobs (or just barely). I'd rather they fix the messes theyve already created (see limited races/state of job design) than move onto the next new thing to create another expansion rush, but each to their own
I'm not sure about Beasmaster... Not a caster is so out of her league, and regarding the original reference, in a recent interview they said that the references from previous FFs are meant to be their own thing in XIV, as in, not necessarily following the source material in every way.Or something akin to that next expanaion?
I thought I'd ask this since she'll be the focus for the next expansion and since she somewhat follows the original FF5 Krile's background up to a certain degree, I thought maybe she'll become a Beastmaster or something like that come the next expansion considering her Echo allows to talk with animals.
However, I would find very likely for Krile to take the mantle of the new caster job that is inevitably coming in 7.0, especially because her current job is a generic 'mage', as per her journal entry.

Balancing is only really an issue right up at the top end of high end content and they seem to be working through that. They cant not add new jobs because pro gamers at the top end of the game find a 1% dps difference.
WHM / BLM / SMN / NIN/ DNC / Omnicrafter and Gatherer

Do we even know IF Beastmaster is going to be a THing?
If I remember correctly YoshiP said that 7.0 moving foreword they want to start making Unique Jobs. So unless we get something akin to Beastmaster, we arnt getting Beastmaster.
I just dont see it myself
Yes, when he speaks about jobs, coming to the game he produces, directs and calls all the shots for I am pretty certain he knows what he's talking about. Jobs are an expectation of expansions, they are the quintessential feature that denotes a main patch as an expansion and adds to the hype and PR. Furthermore, jobs being added to the game has nothing to do with the state of Viera and Hrothgar hats and hairstyles. As the combat/balance/job design team are one in the same and are separate from the character and gear design teams. We know this, comparing the two is nonsensical because they're completely different departments with separate tasks, training and workflows within the team and they have admitted that they do not cross-train.
I too wish they would focus on and fix the issues with the current roster of jobs we have, as the problems are glaring, egregious and often-times inexcusable. Which is why I suspect we'll only see one job for 7.0, as they've already announced overhauls for DRG, AST and a 6.3 overhaul for PLD. I have a feeling as the 6.X series goes on more cracks and fractures will appear for individual jobs and they'll have to re-address most if not all of them in some capacity.

It might, but maybe the reason we haven't heard about it is because they saw how BLU was received and are cautious. Or bc no one asked him, so he never felt like he had to reply
But they said they wanted to make Unique Jobs. Some people seem to have interpreted it as wholly new, never before seen stuff in the franchise. But it could also be new takes on existing concepts.
What that means for Beastmaster I don't know. It could mean we'll have it in a different iteration, or it might mean they won't do anything that has already shown up elswhere. One thing to keep in mind is that the dev team doesn't seem fond of designing pet classes due to the issues the framework has in dealing with them. So if we don't get BST, it might be due to that.
All the players know for sure is Krile will be more involved so there is a chance she will spearhead a new job class and they will keep adding job classes as that's a big part of retaining their concurrent players.
