Now imagine joining new content with some people and one of them knows all of the mechanics. That person starts explaining the mechanics, and everyone else stands around them using /notes.I doubt they could get emotes to change the shape of the outfit without it being a bigger thing already built into the way lots of gear functions, like /visor. Same for adjusting a hat – I'd be very surprised if the hat can move on the head, and if it doesn't, it rather ruins the effect. (I know 6.2 character seems to do it, but it's limited to cutscenes and could be trickery with a prop rather than character equipment.)
Still, for the original post's request – absolutely, the notepad emote would have been a great match for the outfit.
I love it so much.
I am 100% onboard with this idea.

Sure, more emotes the better. I can't see any way people will do any lude or dirty with it. Could be a persistent emote like most dances.

Like I said in the reddit thread, this emote would go perfectly in the newer Scholasticate quest line.
Like, amazingly so.
Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]
+1 To the OP suggestion! This emote exists ever since ARR and is present on every race combination, as we can see by the myriad of NPCs.
One thing, though... unlike the /read... If they implement this, it should defnitely be a looping emote!

It absolutely needs to be persistent.

I spent the time trying to get a picture of the NPCs in the Squadron Barracks... and totally didn't realize that the Sky Watcher uses the animation too!
