Spear fishing now is a joke but I still like the normal fishing.

Fishing may have required more, but that's only because you got to sit still instead of run around in circles. It's so chill compared to the other gatherers. It's only natural things get balanced that way.

I love fishing. It's one of the most chill and pleasant activities in the game. My first Skysteel Relic was the rod actually, just from how slow paced and pleasant the whole experience was. I also came to really like the Delta Quadrant in Azys Lla. It was strangely one of the most pleasant places to fish in, at one of the river areas.

Praying for a day where we get a mount or something else more...substantial from collecting the big fish.

Would also be nice to get something like a spearfishing expedition down the line due to that method of fishing being more fun and engaging then the alternative.

I think all gathering classes are quite boring and a waste of time, more tedious than relaxing to me. Maybe my favorite thing to happen to gathering so far is the updated spearfishing with the visual minigame. I used to ask for mining and botany to be more graphical and involved like that; got to give them some praise for actually doing something like that but for fishing.

A recent fish they added requires catching a certain number of things within that minigame's timer to activate an intuition status. That's the most engaging that gathering has been for me so far and I like this direction. Just needs some worthwhile rewards for spending time on it, some potential to earn good gil.

Spearfishing is nice because it's more about your focus and timing, rather than the ultra RNG of regular fishing that's more like rolling dice for hours/weeks until you get lucky. Regular fishing is always my last resort when I have nothing better to do.

There are so many ways to resolve that. They don't need to waste time on a feature like that.
