Nothing, just a level 51 had a bad day, you know how competitive those lower level dungeons can be.I'm curious what hopes to be accomplished with this thread to be honest. Like was any solution brought up as to what could realistically be done to assist players in learning their rotations or otherwise teach them the game? Cause, if yall want people to play as they should, there kinda needs to be a reason for them to do so. As much as basic competency should be expected, it's a game and people will play how they want. Kicking someone doesn't always produce motivation to improve and with how reporting works, I don't blame anyone for being paranoid to speak up about it.
As far as the ongoing argument about learning new classes/healers/whatever, people learn in many different ways. Some do best with graphs or charts, some do best with videos, some do best with simply reading, doing the task itself, repetition, shadowing someone....I can go on. There's no right or wrong way to learn as long as the material is ultimately understood at the end of it. So, what works best for one person might not work well for someone else and that's okay. Just something to keep in mind.
Right? Some people just don't know how to play this challenging game!

I highly doubt griefers are reading this forum tbf...nor do I think they really care about our opinions anyway. If they're intentionally griefing then why would they stop just because random people they don't know complain on here? XD I feel like that would fuel it further and cause them to act out more because they're being given attention.I think the point of this thread is to just inform griefers of what people think about them because doing so in game risks getting banned. The truth is no one wants to play with them and it would be a blessing if they did something else instead of playing with real players. This isn't school, it's not other players responsibility to motivate other players to read like a teacher would. If they don't want to, I don't care. They can play solo, quit, craft, stay on the island/Limsa, find a premade, play with the apologists who will coddle them, whatever they want to. I simply won't play with them until they read their tooltips or ask for help.
Kicking isn't meant to produce motivation to improve. It's to get rid of them. What they do after being kicked is their choice since it's their sub after all.
It's also pretty known that the forums are known as a toxic place so the people I run into and talk about the forums with have no intention of actually visiting here. So, I feel that speaking for the majority in this case is a bit of a stretch since the majority isn't even here to represent themselves. It's usually just the same names over and over again in threads.
If ya'll want to go on a crusade against the 5% or whatever number is being thrown around, that's on you. I just kinda view it as a waste because not only are the people you wanting to change most likely not even here, no ones providing an actual solution to the problem that could be implemented by the devs and provide a better playing experience for everyone outside of "purge the sickness".
Finally, in my two years I've been playing I've maybe encountered one or two actual griefers and they've been in alliance roulette content spinning the boss and murdering half the party. As several have said in this thread, it's not a common occurrence so treating it like it's one is an overexaggeration. Probably is better to just admit that some want to control how others play and any other way aside from what they view as proper is unacceptable. At least it would be honest.

Let's be real, you'd just be mad at someone for another reason if they were good at the game anyways, so why bother trying to please people like you?

You're playing a video game. That comes with the silent agreement that you're not going to win every encounter. You're not going to clear every fight. Unless you're playing a game designed to be chill and relaxed, like Stardew Valley, you are going to fail encounters, even easy ones sometimes.
That said, I have never... I repeat: NEVER ran a dungeon that timed out due to someone screwing up over and over having played this game since literally day 1 of ARR. I have multiple times encountered players who didn't do mechanics right and wiped sometimes once, sometimes several times. We still cleared the dungeon.
Not every player is going to be great. Some are going to not know how to play. Oh well. That's what you sign up for when you play an online game. If that's not your cup of tea, then I recommend single player games instead.
