I found that the issue disappears the more proactive you become about your movement. Initially I had issues with the fairy lagging behind too but it turns out my Scholar was also very far behind. If your mindset is just to follow the tank and heal you end up being at the edge of maximum healing range all the time and if the Tank sprints away you are now struggling to keep up. If your mindset is instead to do the maximum damage you are always keeping up with the tank applying your dot while they move and using Art of War in close proximity once they stop. I tend to watch the enemy HP closely so I can apply a shield to the tank just before dungeon mobs die and then move with the tank seamlessly once the enemies are gone. Paying attention to the enemies will allow a proactive Scholar to move with a tank or even ahead of them within reason. There isn't any benefit to standing far behind a tank and dungeons have pretty clear linear paths so standing at the "gates" that open when enemies die is relatively simple. If you keep up as a Scholar your fairy will too. Nothing your fairy does is a massive burst heal anyway. It's all small healing over time so if that is stoping you from healing well it's time to evaluate how you're using your toolkit. Excogitation, Lustrate, and Adloquium are more than enough to hold a Tank over until your fairy arrives.

For W2W pulls, I always queue Whispering Dawn second, after Protraction and Soil, precisely to let the fairy the time to come.

What if Fairy Summon was an oGCD? Not only would that instantly resummon the fairy on top of you, but it would also help reduce the punishment for dying as a SCH.

I see. I cannot say I've had the same experience. When I'm running dungeons as a Scholar, I quite literally will run with the tank, sometimes ahead of them. I'm very aggressive as a healer, so I'm not "standing far behind a tank" during pulls, but I'm still having issues with Eos lagging behind. It's not stopping me from healing well, but it's still a bit of an irritation to have to deal with.

In regards to your idea Liam (I have no idea how to multi-quote on mobile, sorry!) if they can't make her faster, having the summon be an oGCD could work AND make it slightly less punishing when you die as well. Personally I'd prefer a speed boost, but if they can't make the pets move faster for whatever reason, this would be a nice compromise.

god if only, atm SCH's punishment for death is:

    -you heal 25% less
    -you lose your aetherflow stacks
    -you lose your fairy
    -you lose your fae gauge
    -you lose your MP

the fact you have part of your kit locked off till you spend an entire GCD to resummon the fairy is pretty dumb considering the other healers dont have that restriction

as sch I'm literally the fastest player in the dungeon even in premades. Fairy is probably faster than the slowest player in the pt

Thoughts on movement skills like Sprint and Peloton also affecting your fairy, or if that's not possible, just giving them better movement speed?
thats why to me kardia beats fairies in content that is not savage or ultimate or if the boss dont do mechs that lets them be untargetable. I struggle whenever i try big pull with sch, never issue with whm ast or sage.

They should teleport to your side like minions if you go too far away, instead of dismissing.
