Normally, it's old dungeons. Old dungeons normally have 1 or more sprouts whose first time it is. So it has everything to do with being a Mentor because you can help them out if they are nervous or confused.

The only times where a Mentor can actually help and guide new players, is when we are queued into a synced extreme fight, maybe arguably even a normal trial/raid.
Sometimes I do this, but sometimes there is no hope for them to clear it and any advice would be pointless because they obviously queued into it when they barely could do the mechanics or a rotation in a normal mode because they are still new. But I wipe with them for an hour just in case they have a massive improvement. The only reason they actually clear them usually is because the echo stacks build up enough to survive mechanics and kill the boss faster.

No more hard-queueing extremes, only via PF.
I think the culture is different in Japan though.

A seasoned player will not be able to help somebody in a guildhest/regular dungeon or something like castrum meridianum, honestly, the game does a well enough job to teach each player how it works/how it wants to be played.
The content may teach them things, but they can't complete that content if nobody queues for it with them. You can help that player by completing the content with them.
