Was not gonna post on here till a friend suggested it to me as I thought my idea was a dumb one but I had an idea for an item called "Portable Orchestrion" this could be an item used to play Orchestrion rolls over dungeon music or overworld content, that allows you to cycle between the three tracks loaded in your Orchestrion to use as backing music

The reason I suggested this is I really like some of the music in the game such as Sephirot and Ravana's themes Scream from the 6th and the 7th Circles, and the alliance raid theme in the Balance. And I believe being able to play these tracks in other places but the house would lead to more people being interested in the great music of this game.

Sure you could just play the music on Youtube, but I think it would lead to more people wanting to collect orchestrion rolls

The item could be obtained via a side quest, and could be rationalized as a device of Garlean or even omicron design, or rationalized as an upgrade for the ear piece that other characters use to get in touch with your character (may need the rationale changing, I skipped a lot of story)

Not such a dumb/silly idea at all - though I have to confess to not knowing the practicalities around this/how they could make it work as such.

However, so far as portable music devices are concerned we saw that the Garlean's had hand-held (more or less) sized Radios.

I'm not sure how they'd implement it either, but if it's possible for them to it'd be neat to listen to the games music in its intended format while enjoying content

I can't imagine it's impossible as such - I mean, summoning a mount (in any location you can do so) prompts the music to change to a track specific to whichever mount was selected, so perhaps they could build on that?
