I suppose that is fair. If everyone else in the party is also spending a substantial amount of their time debuffed or dead, that would indeed constitute carrying one's weight.

Weird? If done intentionally with the intent to upload? Yeah, that would be weird. But as other posters have said, that's generally not going to be the case. You wouldn't gain anything of value from it.
