Your situation would not exist but for the lack of enough glamour plates. Adding more glamour plates fixes your issue while also just being the way it should be anyway. This is not what I was asking... It's not about creating the glamour plates, but using the ones you already have when you're out there.
Right now If I want to do what I'm asking, I can. For example, to use gloves and shoes for glamour plate 4 while the rest of the ensemble from glamour plate 6, I need to use 4... then unequip the gloves and shoes, then use the plate 6, then re-equip the whole set.
The suggestion is to make this process a bit less of a hassle.

So, your suggestion would be adding more glamour plates so I could create sets with single items? That is pretty wasteful if you'd ask me. More glamour plates is always a good thing regardless, but I don't see how it can't co-exist with the OP's QoL suggestion.

If you had enough glamour plates to meet your needs, you wouldn't be mixing and matching single items; you would just make a plate for each of the combinations you want.

I have enough plates for my favorite ensembles, but sometimes I just want to get one piece from another set, not the whole thing.
Again, I can do that already, by equipping and unequipping items, the suggestion is merely a QoL change to allow us to do that with less steps, by having the option to choose which slots of the glam plate you'll use.
