I had quite the night last night. I was playing healer cause I felt like healing. 2 of the 3 runs were just absolute trash.

1. Dead Ends - Tank doesn't know what role abilities are. No rampart, no Arms Length...nothing. He is wall to wall and I'm struggling to keep him alive. Well he goes down and the Dancer gets the aggro...and they run ALLLLLL the way back to the start. I can't get a single heal on them cause I was blowing through my oGCDs to try and fail to keep the tank alive. I should not blow through 6 aetherflow abilities on a single pull. I'm even doing Emergency Tactics + Adloquium + Lustrate combo which is damn near a Benediction and the second I cast that all those heals are just ate through before I can cast my next spell. So we wipe from all of that...and wipe at the 1st boss but I'll admit that was 100% my fault cause I forgot that you have to esuna the debuff or it kills you outright.

So after that and another tank refusing to use defensives I was like "Look at me...I'm the tank now" and I switched to PLD for the rest of the night.

I leveled PLD passively just using leveling/MSQ roulettes so I never go to see it in action at level 90 and I gotta say....PLD feels REAL good at 90. I may put away my Unga Bunga Axe for the sword and shield because even though WARs have their "once in 25 seconds I can Benediction myself"...PLDS just don't take damage at all and also have great regen abilities they can put on themselves or other people...Clemency isn't even needed anymore unless Healer bites it early.

Or instead of using Esuna, people just have to evade the mecanic correctly. Doing this, you don't have to esuna at all.

And I agree on the PLD Part, it's not like they can "full" them selves like the war do, but he can use Shiltron (And the HoT that's inside that abilities) much more consistenly without being punitive at all. PLD possess a good defense and good healing abilities, especially during Resquiescat Window.

Though, it has been quite a while since I've seen that many dead in an alliance raid.

Oh, it's easy to see that many dead in an alliance raid; just queue into Aglaia on a run where someone's going to troll in the last fight...

Eh true but I got nailed with the same mechanic cause I've not done that one in ages so I am not going to point fingers at anyone when I'm goofing up too.

So, I just got out of a LoTA where I saw a mechanic I hadn't seen since my early days of XIV(so back in 2015!)...also had a level 90 DNC in there that NEVER used Standard Step.

The mechanic in question, the "bacon strips" on the final boss. For those unaware of the bacon strip mechanic, it's red line AoEs that are basket woven, but they have white accents in the line making it look somewhat like meaty bacon with strings of fat in it.

Ran Ktisis with my PLD and Ladon managed to do the same double breath pattern every time where the safe spot was in front. I've never seen 3 people with 4 stacks in something like that.

Continuing with PLD, I got P2N on raids. On the 2nd tank stackbuster, the rest of the party was nearby and someone actually walked into the stack. I tried to shoo them off, but it was too late. I laughed way too hard at that.

These past days I have not been playing that great but man getting screwed twice in 2 dungeons with Superbolide depresses me.
1 in Dusk Vigil at start of w2w, Scholar arrived a bit late but it was a good reason to use the invuln, the moment I use.... dead and had a quarter or so of health which means I got hit a millisecond or so in between the hp drop and invuln i guess?? Healer apologised but it wasn't his fault.

Same thing happened in Tower of Zot, this was mostly a mistake of mine with bad mitigations cycling but I still had Superbolide to make up last pull, still died while doing bless server ticks, would have not happened with the other 3 tanks.

These past days people have been apologising to me while I am the one making the mistakes, I feel like dying inside lol
