I'm not the one posting incredibly stupid statements. Blame themYikes. Did you have to open that can of worms? If this thread doesn't get nuked I won't be surprised that it'll be in the 30s page wise when I come and look at the forums in the morning. Cause I'll eat my invisible straw hat if this doesn't start a spicy debate on what exactly a bad is or isn't.
If these responses of yours are supposed to convince people of the benefits of open log parsing to the general community...with this kind of attitude? you're seriously doing a very poor job at it.
Exactly this. I don't think parsing is the end all be all and for the most part completely unnecessary. Its a nice tool to have, but he's failing to understand the negatives that would happen with open parsing.
So if open parsing was a thing and someone noticed more than half your parses are grey you're going to go with "its the other players fault" argument? Kind of hypocritical of you don't ya think given your other arguments in favor of open parsing to "weed out the bad players" eh?

Not as far as I am concerned they dont, no, then again, Im not the kind of person who think they are fit or entitled to sit in judgement over others based on "my dps is better than yours so I am superior"Imagine actually saying that "bads" don't exist
Fire,. lemme let you in on a little secret, I have met people over the years who WERE extremely competent at what they did, problem was, they were also universally despised. I tend to find the good players are those who say little, and let their skill speak for itself.
Last night, EW dungeon, all down but one, the tank, a WAR, on the last boss.
We watched as he SOLOED it to the end, absolutely amazing. Did he preen? No. Did he call us "bads" for dying? No. He laughed, shrugged it off and said it happens sometimes, you did well too.
In my experience, the best at what they do dont judge others, dont denigrate or label others, they know they are good and dont need to tell anyone.
Not only failing but quite literally giving us a sample performance of the general kind of toxic player this tool can easily breed.
My attitude is the correct one to have. Catering to casuals has never been good for any game
Almost wiping on a 4 man dungeons boss, yikes. Should've wiped and kicked the healer and any DPS that underperformedNot as far as I am concerned they dont, no, then again, Im not the kind of person who think they are fit or entitled to sit in judgement over others based on "my dps is better than yours so I am superior"

Wait, people are actually falling for Firemage? lol, this is golden!
*grabs popcorn*
Atelier, on what "good" is, years ago I was doing some contract work for a small company that did car repairs and maintenance.
( Problem customer complaint, long story, tell you one day )
We had a guy come in to get his car looked at, I noticed a small tattoo on his arm, asked him if he was ex military, he said yeah , spent a few years overseas, fixing vehicles, motor pool etc and then laughed at not being able to get his own car running properly.
He left.
A few years later, Im looking at some books on the British SAS..and there was his face in a group photo.
( Cue spectacular jaw drop )
Thats what I meant above, the good ones, the best, dont tell anyone, dont talk, dont brag, dont sling off at others. They are good at what they do and dont need to tell anyone.
