It's not that hard but then again the hardest part is convincing the SE defense force that maintenance during a holiday that is recognized throughout most of the world (doubly so on the server region that you are knocking out~) is a bad idea. Though I wonder what part of that decision was made by the JP devs or the Califorina gatekeepers in the west.

Who is complain'? I'm laughing at the situation. I work during halloween so I don't care. And here comes the defense force going "lol, who cares about halloween." though going by how japan celebrates it I would assume they would, lmao. Also, two posts in a row? The defense is comin' in like clockwork~! lol

Never said that. I said that the SE team work to their own schedules and timetables. I was in an NOC once and saw their "big board", each update was tagged , noted and scheduled, one or two noted as "hard rollout" meaning that the dates for these updates were set in stone and could not be changed for any reason.

All teams were prepared, shared the same schedule, so that when these rollouts happened, all areas were working in concert to a specific plan. Multiple teams and dozens of staff. You cant make changes like that without impacting other teams and THEIR workflows.

Everyone has to be on the same page at the same time.

if they were to shift that timetable to accommodate every holiday overseas, nothing would ever get done.

Will there be a 24h maintenance on all servers on that day? If it's just NA you could make alts somewhere else for Halloween.

as for on topic..,
personally never did anything Halloween related ever since I moved to a more open area. but I can understand how many people have plans, and it get ruined.

But unfortunately not all things can be changed.[the whole expac launch was fairly justified at people's unhappiness.]
one day for a Huge Addition to the NA side of the game. isn't so much of a ask.

but like the expac launch issues.
the rest will see it as, sorry but you will just have to bear with.

[though SE could of let people know earlier, but as they learned to be careful, and not announce til they know for sure. hence their holding on the scheduling of certain things related to housing. expect more things like this to happen in the future. for good, or ill.]

I don't even rp or go to events much, but I still know a few people who were organizing glam contests and events for that day specifically, and of course each of those people had loads more people who were looking forward to participating and showing off the glams they've been making all month.
Bit of an oversight to pick that day of all days. Massive dressup holiday in a game where dressing up is considered endgame for lots of people, lol. They've even celebrated it in game with events centered around it. You can buy pumpkin themed outfits that were event items from years back, for example, so I don't know why people are pretending like SE doesn't know what Halloween is. Just sounds like they didn't care.
