    Many times on Linux/Unix based servers and quite a few times with Windows 2000 to 2003 to 2005 to 2008. And most of the time involving new equipment.

    Have done it with much more data than this game has in totality.

    its not like they know the server structure they worked with for a year now, they must really suck at their job

    you surely laid their incompetent asses bare...

    no offense but i hate it when random people think they are better than a team that works on it for a living for over a year now

    Yes, but if they actually did it, it should be in the patch notes, and it's not.

    Edit add: Yes, the Ul'dah inn works again, yay! That kind of change *does* go into the patch notes, though.

    I can't believe nobody's commented on this one:

    [dev1346] Action icons on the action bar will now blink if activation conditions are fulfilled for the following actions:

    Haymaker / War Drum / Phalanx / Fracture / Overpower / Feint / Full Thrust
    Yes, you can now see when you can fire off your conditional weaponskills!

    How much would the individual character transfers (especially in the case of Ragnarok) and then the implementation of 1.21a add to the downtime? I get the feeling those cases would have a larger downtime to data transfer ratio than just a flat out merge. I would hope they had the foresight to at least have Ragnarok prepared for data before hand, but they would have had to wait until servers went down to transfer the most up to date data.
