Healer is really in bad situation.
When lack of DPS, people blame healer; when lack of heal, people also blame healer.
People never appreciate hard work that healer did. I need to admit a lot of people play healer just because is easy and can get carry.
But guess what, when SE make healing harder, good healer love it, bad healer run away, eventually healer drought cuz everyone blame healer for everything. Just like P5S-P8S and also E4S.
Of course, improving healer system is what SE need to do. But, on the other end, everyone in FF14 community especially tank and DPS player should also help healer by using mitigations and appreciate healers for doing both healing and DPSing at the same time, and improve PF raiding culture, since healing is not just healers job in this game.

You died after you got 8 stacks? Healer's fault. You walked off the stage? Healer's fault. Wipe to enrage? Healer's fault.

I was accussed of not healing enough when we wiped to the enrage of Faust... the average sprout can't comprehend what is happening or what an enrage is and just blames the healers.

It might do nothing but it’s also about the only way we might see a change
At the risk of sounding like a jerk who’s barely affected by the healer shortage due to being in static, I do hold the same hopium that SE will finally bat an eye, for better or worse.

After all, if people weren’t starting to block WHM off their PF, they probably will never adjust that Misery potency and give us a downgraded Aero II

Also hopefully they won’t replace the current healer tester should they start learning EX too at some point

the problem as i see it is the devs little by little turning this in to a solo game. problem is the "AI" they got is trash so they need to make all things easy. dungeons is the first of this. they made all healers more "easy to play", all tanks are some what on the crazy op side. dps do more dps that even even when they don't play well. all this is a push for a solo ff14, that we will get MUCH MORE OF in 7.0 and i bet by 8.0 its be close to 100% solo.

I love healers are they are and I don't want a more complicated DPS rotation! Not everyone shares the same taste.

Sure but why do all 4 healers need to revolve around 1 taste, like we don’t make every class a proc based free form rotation class because some people love current BRD

My problem is they had this right years ago, WHM really hasn’t changed much, why did SCH and AST have to be gutted because some people liked WHM

Doesn't need to be a dps rotation. Something else to do is all i ask for. Could be skills that are needed to build up healing juices or support skills. More stuff like emergency tactics would be nice too. It should just be more natural. Right now we have the little dps kit, the GCD and oGCD heals and "oh shit" skills

The main complain is not to have a complicated DPS rotation.
It's something different and interesting to press instead of the basic nuke + dot whenre there's few or no healing to do.

Besides, there are 4 healers, they don't all need to fit that philosophy.

It wouldn't matter if SE added more DPS options for downtimes or *gasp* soloing for healers, those people who want to help their party (i.e. kill things faster) when healing isn't needed, or participate in more challenging content will likely appreciate having more options - but those people who ignore DPS options will continue to do so, and can't be forced to do so.

So if you don't like complex rotations- by which I would take as mean as identical to DPS - I don't believe most (or anyone, really) in the healer forums as asked for that, and if more DPS options are added then you could conceivably continue to hit "1" in future if you wanted to do so, and continue to heal as much as you wanted.

A job can have more than 1 filler button and 1 DoT and not be complicated or difficult. Just look at SMN and DNC. I love DNC and it's not very complicated, but it also has nuance, which is nice. Giving jobs room to improve their performance actually can make the game easier as content can be balanced around jobs performing at a lower threshold, but allow you to do better than that and lets skill make up some of the gap in gear level, for example.
