Had a tank PLD asking for Esuna on a bleed DoT on the Final Boss. Except, they were spamming Clemency by 60% to 80% HP in Castrum Albania almost all the time and using both Rampart and Sentinel together. Nah, if you want to Clemency, go ahead. I normally can use my tetragrammaton, assize, and my Divine Benison for that since I can outheal the DoT even with my abilities on cd. In worst case scenario, I'll use regen when are on cooldown for a long period of time since regen can just outheal it by itself... but since you want to clemency all the time, I'll just keep on DPSing instead... after all I still have my Benediction untouched for most of the fight since your HP never drops low enough for me to get enough value out of it with those Clemencies ...
Props to the DPS for making those pulls fast though. First time I've seen a group be able to nearly kill all 4 Magitek Pods before Deployment cast is finished in DF. Usually, most groups I end up with manage to kill 2, some barely can kill 3.

It's a DIoT = Damage Increase(d) over TimeI could be wrong. I'm really new to it but got the gist of it to trigger my positionals. I thought the one single/aoe ability we use that lets us gain additional bar on death was also a dot. Then again who reads tool tips? Not me...I'm a mentor!
*adjusts his crown...that's 3 sizes too big and falls around to his neck.*
Will put you on ignore if you can't form a logical argument but argue nonetheless
Just ran a roulette where a DPS claimed the tank wasn't pulling fast enough, so the DPS pulled everything in the room.
I just let everybody die (I could have healed through it), just to teach the DPS a lesson.
Alas, he just blamed the tank for not holding aggro.
'
No, it's not.
This is a silly way to suggest how people heal.
The problem is not directly the DPS pulling but that most dps don't know what to do when they have adds behind them. They just stand away from everything else and expect the tank to move towards them.
It happens far to many times that the DPS who got some adds, accidentally or not, keeps his add hidden in Narnia instead of bringing it into the tank's aoe attack's.
Call it trust issues but I simply do not trust random dps to know what they do when they pull.
I love when people do that in Alzadaal when I'm on tank.I semi-often play with one of the best dungeon speedrunning BLMs on Crystal, and it's opened my eyes as to how actually okay having DPS and healers pull ahead of you when you're doing W2Ws is. DPS have mitigation buttons, in the case of the aforementioned BLM, they have manawall or whatever it's called, and if they pull ahead of me it accomplishes two things:
1) They bring mobs back to me, which can shave time off of a dungeon run. Yay!
2) I take slightly less damage than their mitigation soaked.
I'm honestly just chill with it at this point. I do it myself, even. For example, if I'm doing my expert on Reaper, I can cycle my arcane crest to be used for shaving time off of a dungeon run and bringing mobs to tanks. They get regen, I get to start DPS slightly earlier, and everyone saves time. It's great! I wish more DPS and healers would start pulling ahead of me in dungeons with their movement abilities.
It's been a while since I tanked expert but last time I got a DNC that just dashed ahead every time, triggered the groups that have to spawn first and that stone that keeps summoning mobs early so when I arrived everything was already targetable. They even popped Arm's Lengths and then brought any mobs right to me. Instant comm.
If someone pulls ahead and then runs away though, I'll first tell them to bring mobs to me or not pull ahead if they can't manage that and if they keep doing it, they're on their own if they run out of my ranged attack range.

Remember FFXI, where the group would sit in a safe spot while a thief or ranger would wander off to find a single mob to bring back, because everything could kill you in a few hits.
Lol

I remember being on BRD and doing pulls for merit point parties. Elegy was still amazing.
I remember being told that I have to remain on BRD otherwise I'd be completely useless in Dynamis.
I remember being on BST and being able to relax and do exp/pulls at my own pace in Sky killing pots with flamingo mobs.
I remember being told that, because I had to get off during a single raid run in Sky as BRD because I had work early in the morning, the raid linkshell I was in failed Seiryu because one of the BLMs volunteered to be BRD for the buffs and I was strictly blamed for the failure.
I remember as BRD I went from level 37 to 50 grinding out parties in Crawler's Nest in a 42-hour gameplay session straight. I regretted nothing except for the sheer amount of caffeine I ended up consuming without realizing it to continue grinding.
I also still remember those mob trains people took to the zone entrances and there'd be piles of bodies of people that tried to zone into the area only to immediately die due to them not patching mob despawning until much later.
Good times.
This one is beyond your help. Only sleep can save her now.

Shouldn't need to be said (again), but... if you want to MT... grab everything. Yes, all the adds. As OT my stance isn't going on (eff tank aggro wars) unless there are big adds that absolutely need to be kept apart... or another tank refuses to grab all the small fry adds... in which case I'm grabbing them and dragging them over to the main group so everyone can aoe them down. Zero reason to keep everything apart in something like the lvl 50 raids, for example. Come on. Bad enough those keep popping instead of something else... When one of them pops I take my lumps and just suffer through it, but I'd rather spend as little time in them as possible.
Another thing... anecdotal I know, but I've seen a lot of DRGs not putting Dragon Sight on anyone. Why...? Takes a few seconds to target someone. Granted, things can get a bit hectic at times and people forget here and there(me!), but I've consistently seen the buff on the DRG in the party window and no one else for entire fights. I don't get it.
