Turn on Demolish for Housing and fix housing please.

Personally I'm betting on it not being turned back on until 7.0. By then they should have all the planned new NA and EU servers added, with the available houses on those worlds being held out as the incentive to transfer and populate them.


The Russia/Ukraine conflict has had far reaching impact on that side of the world due to supply chain disruptions. It wasn't just limited to the Ukraine.

Players also aren't limited to what servers they can play on based on where they live. A lot of European players continued to play on NA worlds even after the first EU data center was added.

To me just because a war is going on shouldn't stop a feature. This is reality of the world and human nature. The rest of the world keeps moving forward despite something going on. As cold as it may sound can't let a small thing happen to keep everything shut down. There will always be conflict/ natural disasters you name it. World is s cruel place but we gotta do what we gotta do sorry for their losses

My answer is. It is what, what it is Put this as a prospective lets say NA lost internet and had its been out for a year or so. Do you think they will wait for us to get it back? Do you think they will delay any future expansions for NA due to it? No. You see where I am coming from. Why wait for something to pass that may never pass for a region or 2 and punish everyone else when you can open it back up and just tell them sorry. It's life and the hands you are dealt with. Another thing is let's say you couldn't afford your sub for a few months because of inflation. Should those who can afford it be punished because the other can't?

I wouldn't expect it to come off until SE have used every single lever they can to get people to move from busy EU and NA servers to the empty new ones.

It's just too good a population balancing lever to waste by turning on Demo before the servers are balanced.

As someone who does own a house, I am in favor of auto-demo going back on.

The game needs to be able to cycle houses between inactive players and those who aren't. Regardless of whether or not you see auto demo as fair or not, it can also be said that it's not really fair to force everyone else to wait x amount of months to have a realistic chance at owning a house again (Sorry, fighting hundreds of people at one placard is not a realistic chance, I don't care how anyone tries to spin it. It's not). The devs have made it pretty much crystal clear at this point that they don't want to do instanced housing, so there's absolutely no reason to keep auto-demo off for months and months and basically strip people of the ability to own a house in general. This is why people are making FCs and buying up FC plots because people are mad and rightfully so.

I'd rather have auto-demo go back in and babysit a timer again if it means houses will start to move on the market for other people to try to win. It's been months, if not over a year now including covid auto-demo being turned off. If you haven't renewed your sub once in that time, you don't need a house. Bit harsh but it's the truth.

The current housing system is inherently unfair and inherently limited content. Until they make it possible for everyone to own a house, and decouple workshops entirely from housing, it will always be unfair regardless of whether auto demo exists.

I personally think it sucks and would love it gone entirely because I hate feeling like I'm giving up on housing entirely forever if I ever unsub (as I currently own a house and my furniture would take up several retainers worth of space if I gave it up) but... The problem it's intended to mitigate (mitigate, not solve) doesn't go away just because they put it on pause either.

Exactly. They can do instanced housing if they wanted to but for some reason their minds can not for what ever grasp that concept. There are other MMO's that has done this perfectly. Sadly people go by the Final Fantasy name and protect it like crazy. This game has some major flaws to it yet people are blind to it

Placard camping is not FCFS.

The first come first served system was the system where there was no hidden timer and no need to spam click for hours. The first person to click the placard as soon as it became available was given the option to purchase it as long as they met the requirements and had the gil. Several years ago Square implemented the hidden timer but FCFS was still used for brand new housing when the subdivisions were introduced and wards expanded.

So let me get this straight. Op never wanted a house until recently but had the maximum possible chances before now and is begging for anyway for them personally to get a house even if it hurts the game and others. And the cherry on top is asking for a system to return that will likely just take the house they begged for away anyways.

Um right, apartment exists. Maybe give that a try first before going off the deep end to sound like a lunatic.

I'm of the mind that they can but choose not to. They showed they're able to give each player an instanced area that has all the same functions of housing (minus furniture placement but reason stands that if it can do everything else, it has the capacity to do furniture placement as well) with extra features on top. They also strapped it to the housing servers which shows that the capacity was always there to do something like IH and not even need their own servers for it.

I just genuinely believe that they want housing to be exclusive and will use it as an incentive to shift population around when they open new servers/a way to keep people paying a sub when auto-demo is turned back on.
