Any time somebody thinks a BiPedal Anthropomophic Animal character is cool at any capacity they get called a Furry.
It is kind of annoying. I dont belong to or identify with an internet subculture just because I think Gnolls are cool, or that I played a Khajiit in Elder Scrolls..

Though let's be honest, werewolves are cool if done right, and I wouldn't mind a Worgen-esque idea in my favourite games! Lots of potential there. Not saying FF14 should have one of those, the devs clearly have their hands busy with all this, just saying that we need more werewolves in videogames.

Now whether wanting Hrothgar of any kind makes you a furry? That I don't know, but I can say this:

I was so happy to see the Lupin. I'm not ashamed to admit that I hugged Hakuro each time I visited the enclave during the MSQ.
I'm hoping that more is done with them in the future. New clans could be introduced, so that they could have a larger presence outside of Doma.

Furry is a very wide net, to the point where it's generic. There are multiple "levels" of furry, IMO. Just liking an anthropomorphic animal character has you at the lowest level, which most people in the world fall under. That's the generic entry level, pretty much every person is at that level.

I just dont like being called, or labeled something I dont identify with or am even apart of. No hate to Furries personally, but Im not one.

I don't identify as a furry ergo I am not a furry, plain and simple. I want female Hrothgar because I like playing as beast races (females) in MMOs, it started with my first MMO to now. That is why I play a male Hrothgar rather than any other female in this game. They don't appeal to me. I like the game and its story and I would like to play as something I like. Cat/lizard girls are just not for me and the rest are too humanoid.

For Example, mine. Is ears and tail don't make a furry. [since that's the who Dragon/Cat/Dog/Monster/etc girl] but once they gain full body fur, or no exposed smooth skin, only scales. and or paws/different leg-feet-body type. that's when it goes furry/scalie.
<though tbh, no one cares if they are called furry, or scalie. outside of categorization, or plain group vs group>

Yeah. I understand people being labelled as something is uncomfortable, but being a furry isn't as negative as people often make it. It's just someone saying things for the sake of it, don't let it distract you from supporting female Hrothgar, furry or not.

I do wonder, however, when the race comes out, will Square add content/NPCs to promote it like they did with Male Viera? Like, no offence to Male Viera players, or Vieras overall. But their major justification was that "they're too rare to appear", yet Endwalker made two rather prominent NPCs, even within the MSQ itself. I know Viera is a bit more popular in general and garners more attention, but will the same be afforded to Female Hrothgar?
