That's never going to happen lol. I'm pretty sure there's something in the code for how character models are saved that would prevent a real time swap like that. There's a reason the barber loads you into the character creation screen.

An actual solution would be to allocate resources to fixing the technical issue and I would personally be all for it!

I won't say it isn't possible. Highly unlikely in the present time, but certainly not impossible in the near future. I once thought they would never actually add flying to ARR zones, and they did it. And when thinking in terms of the next 10 years as the dev team claims they are, then I do think that this is something that they will need to eventually address.

However, the gravity of this project needs to be understood. The dev team is already in a kind of debt as the game is still owed female Hrothgar, and both sexes for Viera and Hrothgar need their CC brought up to at least where the other races are at. They need to accomplish these things before they can even think about revamping the CC and glamour systems as both would need to take place in order to fulfill just this hairstyle-->glamour plate request. And this was precisely why I opposed adding any new races prior to Viera and Hrothgar, and now here we are.

Due to the enormity of the task, my proposed solution was more hairstyles. I recognize the juxtaposition with that, but I mentioned updos specifically because they prevent clipping while still giving the impression your avatar has long hair. It's a compromise, which is something we as players must do.
