You're also discounting those who have reached 90 and haven't yet started with this content, as well as all of those players who seem to enjoy it and haven't tried to max out to level 10 within the first month.

Out of the entire population of active subscribers, you may actually interact with, what, 150-200 of them, max? So "everyone" in this context is self-selected: you don't actually hang out with people, or converse with people, about Island Sanctuary unless you've already established some form of relationship.

The immense majority of the people that I know are completely done with islands and only did it for either the shorts or the bike, and they now abandoned the content because it's plainly bad and boring, they just did it for the rewards because they had to.

They didn't have to. They chose to.

There's always the option to skip content you don't find enjoyable and go without the related rewards. I don't think a lack of denim cutoffs for glamour is going to ruin an entire game for someone.

Still, that's your circle of friends. In my circle of friends, there are some still slowly working on their island. Others have it to max but are still having fun with the workshop and trying to collect all the rares. Others like to come visit my island because they haven't completed 6.0 MSQ yet and are looking forward to being able to get their own island. And yes there is one who said he got bored with it and stopped bothering.

Neither of us has a circle of friends that's representative of the entire player base. Only SE knows how popular the content has been so far.

It's kinda mindnumbing and boring but there is a large audience for mindnumbingly boring games. Old school runescape still exists afterall. Personally I am very whelmed by IS. I didnt spreadsheet it out, I didnt go through everything as fast as possible. I have the bike, I'm going to get one of the onion mounts but I'm also not in a hurry. Not really my kind of content but it's low effort enough for me to still get the rewards for it. For now I guess it'll just be a pretty island I can park my character if I'm not hanging out infront of my FC house.
