Yes I did prefer e4s and e8s. They were feature complete fights where it felt like one whole boss instead of two half hearted ones. The other problem is, both parts of 8s are so long that combined they're coming close to just shy of an Ultimate fight. 8s part 1 is 7:50 enrage, 8s part 2 is 8:28 enrage; taken together thats a 16 minute fight whereas when designed like Titan and Shiva its closer to 12 minutes.

I stand corrected though; Faust, Hummelfaust, and Faust Z were good doorbosses as well. Short, to the point, mechanically simple and primed you for the real fight ahead. So five, five good doorbosses and if they adopted that formula going forward I'd have no issue.
